For those of you thinking SITS and scratching your head…in this context SITS means The Secret is in the Sauce. Still confused? The SITS girls is a community of over 40,000 women bloggers who support each other with comments while learning about blogging along the way. Come check out my featured post on their site and say hey!
SITS is one of those words that seems like a medical acronym, doesn’t it? Severe Idiopathic Tailbone Scoliosis. Sounds like something a blogger might get from sitting too long at the computer, huh?
Anyway, welcome to my blog! I’m SO happy you are visiting!! My blog started because like most moms I wanted to stay home with my children but yet still wanted to make some money. I’ve had a steady stay at home job for almost three years now but have dabbled in various work at home jobs for the past six years. eHow. Leapforce. Mechanical Turk. Avon. Mia Bella. Demand Studios. Probably others that I’m forgetting too. My blog started just like any other venture but turned into a love.
My blog has so far been just been another fun outlet for me. My days are jam packed with trying to work at home while cleaning and watching my youngest. Trying to find fun crafts and recipes that my children will like all while attempting to save some money. Learning new things in the process while teaching what I already know. Reminiscing on trying to conceive and pregnancy. Being a Kentucky mom. Running errands and going to sports events. Whew, it’s a crazy life but it’s my world and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
Maybe when things slow down a bit I can focus more on writing but for now I get in what I can. I have so many things that I have saved to blog about but life is hectic and I rarely get the chance. Do you have a blogging schedule? Do you set aside time to blog? I could get so wrapped up in this like I did when I started my blog so instead I decided to take a step back. So, family first while my blog is a bit lower on the list but always on my mind. I’m sure you know what I mean (i.e. “This could be a post” or ”If I do that I can turn it into a post”) Ok, well, sorry for rambling. Welcome!! Take a look around and check me out on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+. Have a fab day in the blogosphere!!
Oh, and a random blogger question. I know it’s important to have an About Me in the sidebar. How do I go about that with a picture and all? And can anyone recommend a widget that shows your best posts? Thanks girls!

Happy SITS Day, Krystle! Best wishes to you!

I’m working on several stories at the same time! I know it’s not a very productive technique but I’m just letting it all flow out… For now… Who knows which one I end up finishing first…

Happy SITS Day!!
It can be hard to find time to blog!! I’m a fairly new blogger but am managing to get a blogging schedule down. I try to write all of my blogs for the week on Sunday when things are a little calmer for me. I try to do a post on Monday, Wed/Thurs, and Sunday. Sometimes these change….depending on the week!
Have a great weekend!!

Hopping over from SITS! Happy SITS Day!
You sure sound like a busy mom! I don’t work outside the home or in the home (other than the mommy and wifey jobs), but I used to! I know what it’s like to try to find balance with all of that and blog, too. I don’t really have a set time to blog, but I do have deadlines for myself so I don’t neglect them completely when the days get crazy. I’m sure you know what I mean. My daughter’s nap time when the boys are at school are normally my blogging, emailing, Facebooking, etc. times.
Anyway, I hope you have an amazing day!

I do know what you mean. My son’s nap time is usually my work time so the blog is out then for me sadly. Although sometimes I don’t have any work to do so I try to squeeze it in then or when everyones asleep at night. I do think it will be a lot easier to fit time in for blogging once my son is in school but then I may get a job outside the house. Who knows. I hope you have a great day too!
Twitter: @homejobsbymom
Thanks!
Juggling schedules is crazy, but it can be done. It does help to be organized and plan times for things, but you also need to be able to go with the flow. The right balance is different for everyone.
Sounds like you are finding yours just fine.

Blogging, working at home and taking care of my one year old are all in a days work for me so I know exactly where you are coming from.
As for your question, is this a WordPress site?
What I did with Blogger is I wrote about a post – dropped a picture in and when I was done, copied the html onto an HTML widget.
For the best posts, I took a picture, edited it with my limited graphic design knowledge using this tool: http://pixlr.com/express/ and then I linked the picture to the best blog posts.
Hope it helps.
If not, email me. I’d be glad to walk you through it.

Happy SITS day to you! I most definitely do not have a blogging schedule – although wish I could establish one. I just write when I can. When I get those really inspirational moments I jot down notes for myself to hopefully get to at another time. – My hope is that my notes will trigger what it was I wanted to write. Sometimes it works, other times not so much
I hope you have a wonderful SITS day!!

Happy SITS day! I also tried doing the direct business from home (Pampered Chef) and found that to do it well, it was a full time job! It’s enough work to just be home with the kids! As for your questions on the About me with a pic, I could tell you how to do it on blogger, but I’m not sure about wordpress… check the widget page? And I use LinkWithin to put similar posts at the bottom of each post, but I believe there is also a widget you can add to show your most popular posts. Good luck!
Alexa recently posted..Spreading Awareness.. For Love of Kathryn

Thanks! I’ve used the linkwithin for posts before but can that be used for the sidebar too?
Twitter: @homejobsbymom
Not sure… I know when I was messing around with my template, I saw some kind of widget for most popular post. When all else fails, I google it and almost always find a solution! Google “putting most popular posts in WordPress” and surely someone has a tutorial!

As a new SAHM, I’ve been able to blog every other day. I’m just now getting back in the swing of it all, but I just make sure I do a blog post every other day. I will skip 1 day, just to take a breather. LOL My ABOUT page is just about my blog… I surely need to update it because since giving birth 4 months ago, my blog topics are different now. I think I’m turning into a Mommy Blog. hahahha Have you tried the Linked Within to show some of your other posts? That may be what your looking for. Anyway, great blog and came over from SITS Girls.

Happy SITS Day! I can so relate to your post! I started my blog recently as a fun outlet/home based business, but I’m finding that it is taking more time than I had planned (though, I love every minute of it!). I schedule time every afternoon while my son naps and two nights a week to work on blog stuff, but it never seems like a enough. My number one job is being a stay at home mom to my son, so I need to focus on that first and then blogging second, but it is still so hard!

Hi and Happy SITS Day! I think what’s working for me is to do my blogs on one day – (Sunday or Monday) and then ‘schedule’ them for the week. You can use WordPress to schedule or even Hootsuite. That’s the goal anyway – and I’m aiming for 3 posts/ week.
Andrea recently posted..JT SplatMaster Bundle Giveaway
That’s a good idea that I’ve thought about doing. It’s just hard for me to be at the computer that long and plus if I have real work to do I have to do that instead. I think I am going to pick certain activities for certain days and see how that works.
