Chuck E. Cheese’s is one of those places that moves with the generations. When I was a kid, it was the “cool” place to be especially for birthday parties! In fact, Chuck E. Cheese’s gave me my first job. I was a party hostess, cashier, and even dressed up as the big guy himself from time to time.
Now that I have kids of my own, Chuck E. Cheese’s is still the place to be (especially with all of the new updates!). Chuck E. Cheese’s has partnered with Tesser to completely revamp the inside and outside of several San Antonio restaurants. With fun for all ages, here are a few reasons to go to Chuck E. Cheese’s with your kids:
#1. Chuck E. Cheese’s Creates Lifelong Memories
For 40-years, Chuck E. Cheese’s has served families by providing food, fun, and games for kids of all ages. Yes, this includes adults (even more so with the updates). With pizza, beer, and prizes,
Chuck E. Cheese’s is the place where a kid (0-100) can be a kid. You can spend time with your family creating memories that will last a lifetime. Not only will your kids forever remember their time at Chuck E. Cheese’s, but they can pass down their joy to their own kids.
But now it's in an environment that isn't a sensory overload. It has a more modern feel with calmer tones and sounds that invite parents and children in.
#2. Food and Entertainment
Instead of cutting the party short to get dinner, you can order food for the entire family here.
Chuck E Cheese's new design features an open kitchen. This means kids can watch food being made, and parents know it’s made in house. Nice and fresh!
Plus, there are way more food choices. Things like fresh wraps, sandwich choices, Cali Alfredo Pizza, BBQ pizza, and even gluten free options. Parents finally have more options to choose from than plain ole kiddy pizza and if you are in a hurry you can always use their self-service kiosks to order your food as well.
#3. It’s Great for Birthday Parties
Chuck E. Cheese offers great packaged deals full of pizza, cake, entertainment, and a positive environment for birthday parties. Instead of trying to fit 20 kids into your small family home, you can have a perfect party here with everything you need!
While I was there we got to experience the party area by making our own pizzas. Everything was fresh and homemade and to be honest a much better taste than their pizzas of the past. It was amazing getting to eat pizza right out of the oven!
Their new design even allows for larger parties and different configurations, making it the perfect place to boogie down.
When it comes to throwing a party, Chuck E. Cheese's is still the place to be. And now they have modern play passes. Instead of carrying around tokens that spill everywhere, you can purchase your tokens on passes. Tap-to-play is so much easier!
There are even more modern games that are nicely separated into age groups. This makes finding the perfect game easy! Not to mention, they've ditched the ball pit, tunnel, and tubes McDonalds atmosphere, making it somewhere parents won't dread to be.
Of course, tickets still roll out of the machines when you win and can be redeemed for prizes. That's half the fun, right?! When it is time to redeem your tickets you just use their handy ticket taker machine. It counts them up and prints out the total on a receipt. Unlike when I worked there, we used to have to weigh the tickets in a bowl to get the total amount. That slowed things down a bit.
#4. Chuck E. Cheese is Educational
Kids learn through play. Because Chuck E. Cheese's is full of play, there is a lot of learning that goes on. Games teach hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills, and fast reflexes. Playing games teaches your kids patience and how to share. Although waiting for the game or activity you want to play isn’t fun, it is a great way to teach your kids about being respectful, sharing, and waiting their turn.
#5. Chuck E. Cheese Has Been Renovated
That’s right parents, Chuck E. Cheese at 1403 N. Loop 1604 E San Antonio, Texas has been renovated with you in mind. On August 9, 2017, Chuck E. Cheese hosted its ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the re-grand opening of the restaurant, and it is absolutely amazing! It was a big deal, even the CEO, Thomas (Tom) Leverton, of CEC Entertainment Inc. was there for the event. Roll out the red carpet, folks!
The new design focusses on the pizza-making process and more of a restaurant feel for adults. So, while the kids are off playing, you and your significant other can enjoy a relaxing time together.
#6. Say Goodbye To Animatronic Bands
Instead of the classic animatronic characters of the past, that would totally freak out the Five Nights At Freddy's of today, there are more live mascots and a modern Dance Floor. This means no more animatronic stage shows (A quiet sigh of relief; I still dream about the music that constantly played when I worked there.) Instead, Chuck E. will make his grand appearance on a centralized dance floor for all to see AND dance.

This was a pleasant surprise. We had a small birthday party for my younger daughter, Alexis here two weeks ago. She turned five. My daughters loved this place after her grandparents took them there a few months ago. I was a bit worried and skeptical after reading all the yelp reviews but booked the party anyways given Alexis’ rave reviews.
Chuck E Cheese is a fun place for young kids for sure!!
We haven’t visited in years but it looks like so much fun. My niece would love it.
My kids loved Chucky Cheese when they were little we even did their birthdays there and now my grandkids love going there as well …such a great family outing.
Couldn’t agree more! Always a great option for just about anything having to do with kids.
I love the new look! It is so modern and contemporary looking now.
Oh, I know! I couldn’t agree more. Very fancy now!
No matter what their design is, the place is awesome and kids all love it. They never want to leave once we are there
I don’t blame them! I don’t like leaving once we’re there either! ha!
I love Chuck E. Cheese. I’m not sure if there is one by my house anymore. It seemed like a lot of them closed up, but I had lots of good times there.
Oh no! Where do you live that they closed up? I hope you get to relive those memories but visiting one soon!
I have never been to one . I really like the way this is designed. Fun for little ones!
You should totally go! Not as much for adults but it’s still fun!
I like the idea of the redesign. Seems like less of a headache for the parents.
It definitely is less of a headache. It was nice before but even better now.
I didn’t realize they have been around for that long!
I think the updates sound great and what I really like about CEC is that their games are reasonably priced.
I know, right?? I always forget how long they’ve been around for. Me too!
The pizza party looks fun.
It IS super fun! I can promise you that!
I love the new design. Seems so much more personal and roomy
I couldn’t agree more! A bit nicer than before!
Yes, it does look a bit calmer than it use to. It has been a while since I visited though
I love the new changes they made to an already great place. I hope you get to stop by again soon!
We love Chuck e Cheeses. And it is perfect for birthday parties. I only want to do a theme party on a rare occasion, it is too nerve racking for me!
I hear you on that one! It makes it much easier to go where they’ve got it ready for you.
I have heard of Chuck E. Cheese, but have never been there. Maybe next time I venture to civilization. 🙂
It’s so strange to hear that someone has never been! Even as an adult I enjoy it!
Of all the memories my kids have of their childhood birthday parties, their favorite ones are the years we went to Chuck E. Cheese. I’m glad to see it’s still such a fun place!
My kids are the same way. I love the consistency it has had over the years.
I haven’t been to one of these in ages. I definitely have good memories from there though.
So glad to hear you have some amazing memories from there!
Chuck E Cheese will always be one of our favorites! We love going there for special events and family nights. My kids favorite place!
That’s what we like to do as well! Our kids are obsessed and I’m ok with that!
I’ve never ordered school supplies online, but I would consider it! I love the whole back to school season.
I love it as well but there are certain spots I would love to skip over haha!
I cannot count the number of times we have been to Chuck E. Cheese! I am so glad they have improved their menu.
I am too! Glad to hear we have others who like it as much as we do!
I have never been there but will absolutely pop in when I see one. Looks like loads of fun!
It’s definitely a blast! Let us know if you get to try it!
I have never ordered school supplies online, other than a backpack, but I should check it out. I order from Amazon and Walmart frequently. Back to school time is always hectic, and this would make it easier!
It’s always hectic for us as well. It can be hard to keep up with going to the store so many times.
We haven’t visited in years but it looks like so much fun! I’m sure my daughters would enjoy the experience.
I have no doubt they would love it! I hope you get to visit soon!
My family and I love going to Chuck E. Cheese. It has been awhile since we’ve been there though, but we’re hoping to visit someday soon!
We don’t get to go as often as we like either. Glad you’re getting to go have some fun!
No I have not order school supplies on-line. I always go to Walmart for their school supplies; I believe this school year will go great the kids like all or their classes.
That’s so good to hear! Glad to know it’s starting out smoothly for you.
When we were kids, we would always go to Chuck E Cheese’s for everyone’s birthday parties. It was always so much fun!
It’s definitely been around long enough that most have good memories of it. Glad to hear you do!
It’s a place that the kids love, that’s for sure. I love that it has everything you need when you’re hosting a party for the kids!
I can agree there! It’s nice to not have to haul a ton of stuff there when doing a party.
This was my niece and nephew’s favorite place for me to take them when they would come to visit!
It’s definitely an easy way to occupy the kids! I don’t blame them for being so excited!
Would you believe I’ve never been to a Chuck E Cheese? Though they always look like the would be so much fun for little ones. They must be doing something right to thrive for 40 years. That’s impressive.
Whaaaaat?!?! Girl, unless you have kids, I can understand. However, if you DO have kids, you’ve gotta get to one! It’s worth every penny!
Whaaaaat?!?! Girl, unless you have kids, I can understand. However, if you DO have kids, you’ve gotta get to one! It’s worth every penny!
I don’t think most kids get to go as often as they would like, ha! I’m glad he loves it so much!
Hi Krystle, Well this is a blast from the past! My husband and I were just reminiscing about all the fun we had at Chuck E Cheese’s growing up, and how our kids enjoyed parties and fun there too. Thanks for this update on what’s going on with Chuck E Cheese today!
I myself have some great memories growing up going there. I think a lot of us do!
Haven’t been there in so many years! I’ve been debating on taking my kids there and see if they will like it.
I have no doubt they’ll love it! You should go soon!
I haven’t been there in forever but would love to bring my four year old. Love all your tips.
I’m glad you enjoy them! You’ll have to go soon!
I have bought school supplies online. I have used amazon, staples and kohls to get mine
Those are all great options for school supplies! Shopping online is so handy.
Looks like they have updated to grow with the lifestyles. I’m not a fan myself. Ours shut down years and years ago, due to many food poisoning outbreaks.
Oh no! Sounds like it may have just been that specific location. I sure hope if you go again it turns out better!
We haven’t been to Chuck E Cheese in a while, but we are due for a visit back. my kids love it there.
Oh yes, you totally need to visit soon. You’ll remember how fun it is.
