The number of days the kids can sleep till noon are now very limited. Back to school is in full swing trying to get everyone back on normal sleep schedules and prepped for the big day. This means mom too!
To stay on top of those hectic school days (which is almost ALL of them) I stop by my local Target and stock up on TYLENOL® and BENGAY® (to keep the whole family healthy inside and out BOTH day AND night). That way if something hinders my day I can quickly remedy it and get back to what I love – being a mom! Here are 5 ways moms can start the new school year off right and avoid extra headaches and germs.
Stay Organized
Organization is key to lessening many headaches. Keeping a calendar or planner of everyone's schedule is a must. I personally like to use the iCloud calendar. I put important events, due dates, and activities each labeled with their own color code. It then syncs to my computer and BOTH mine and my husband's phone so no one has an excuse to as why they forgot about to pick up glue for a big school project.
Don't Have Too Many Commitments
You only have two arms. Don't pretend like you have more. There's no need to be a PTA member, baseball team mom, classroom mom for ALL your kids, volunteer for every school event under the sun, and then expect to finish off the day with a family bike ride. Over loading your plate will leave you feeling stressed, burned-out, and probably SORE. You then won't have time to concentrate on what is most important – your family.
If you are having some muscle pain grab Ultra Strength BENGAY® Cream (For adults and children 12 years and older. Use only as directed.). It will temporarily relieve the minor aches and pains of muscles and joints associated with: simple backache, arthritis, strains, bruises, and sprains. It helps soothe my neck and back tension when I feel like I can handle being supermom (but really can't) and then I can continue on pretending.
Prepare for the Unexpected Expected
Enclosing a bunch of youngsters underneath one roof can only lead to one thing. Sickness. Kids are full of germs and don't have the best hygiene techniques. They may pick their nose and then touch every single crayon in the crayon box. Or sneeze into their hands and then climb all over the playground equipment. You know it happens and all you can do is be prepared for when they do fall ill.
You can drill into their heads about how to wash their hands, use hand sanitizer, don't put their fingers into their mouths, and sneeze into their elbow but that only does so much. Their immune systems are still young and trying to build up. Unfortunately, they WILL get sick at some point. That's why I like to stock up on Children’s TYLENOL®.
When it comes to reducing fevers and relieving pain in children, TYLENOL® is the brand recommended most by pediatricians. When my kids spike a fever Children’s TYLENOL® is the first thing I grab. I love that it won’t upset little stomachs while temporarily: reduces fever; relieves minor aches and pains due to: the common cold, flu, headache, sore throat, & toothaches. We are big fans of the grape flavor in this house!
Stay Positive
It's easy to be negative but DONT. Start each day with a positive note no matter how much you rather be in your PJs sleeping. Yes, we all know waking up early to pack lunches and getting the kids to the bus isn't the highlight of the day. It doesn't have to be a bad one either, though!
This can be the time to smile and say nice, positive things to your children (you know before they come home from school and complain about homework and chores). This positivity will radiate throughout your child's school day giving them a better chance for success too.
Get Enough Sleep
I don't know about you but I am a real grouch if I don't get enough sleep. Mean mommy comes out but she doesn't always want to perform to the best of her abilities. She may put off cleaning or opt for an easy way out in certain situations. She is someone the kids rather not see when they get home from school and I can't say I don't blame them.
I don't like mean mommy either that's why when I am suffering from a headache that won't let me sleep I take TYLENOL® PM. It gives you a better night. So you’re a better you all day. TYLENOL® PM contains a pain reliever and nighttime sleep aid for restful nights. When I've had a good night's sleep I can handle tough situations that are thrown my way like misbehavior at school and bad attitudes when it comes to doing after school chores. Otherwise, I may blow my lid and no one wants that!
Get positively prepared with the right pain relief for you and your family at Target.
Yes! I totally agree that we, moms, should get enough sleep! It is hard to work without sleep!
Oooo great advice!!!! I need to hit the store and stock up!
I need to start by getting more sleep now! Good tips!
We always keep Tylenol in the house, just in case. And I do wish we had some Ben Gay right now.
I love these tips!! It is hard to believe that the new school year is already here, so important to take care of your self as well as the kids.
Some great tips! Especially the staying organized. I don’t know what I would do if it wasn’t for my 2 calendars. Yes I said 2. We keep a wipe off one on the wall so everyone can see what is going on. It must be wipe off because my husband’s schedule changes so much it is just easier to quickly wipe off a schedule. And then my personal calendar that I keep track of everyone’s schedules, activities and my business.
Oh, these are great tips! I will prepare for my son’s schooling for next year.
I need to sleep more, I always sleep for only 3-4 hours and I had so many pains
I don’t know how you do it. 3-4 hours sleep would kill me. Although I remember that seemed like a ton when I was used to lack of sleep when my kids were infants.
The start of the school year can always be stressful especially for moms! I think it’s great that you’re preparing ahead. These are all helpful tips!
It’s good to prepare ahead for the school year and to make sure that you have all that you need for school and for the house. Having meds ready in case of flu or colds is great advice! Aside from that, eating healthy and getting enough sleep keeps everyone from getting sick.
I need the BenGay right now. I have a sore leg muscle that makes sitting hard.
These are all crucial tips for surviving the new school year hahah. They’re great!
Great ideas for school year. We all have to keep this in our mind.
I can’t believe it’s time to get ready for back to school. Tylenol is definitely a staple around our house for aches and pains.
Some great tips! I really need to work on getting enough sleep and staying organized!
You are so right about prioritizing sleep! I’m learning that if I don’t sleep well it’s not good for myself, my husband, or my son.
Since I have been working out more intensely, sometimes I have some aches and pains that prevent me from falling asleep. I really need to pick up some TYLENOL® PM for myself! #client
