Apples are one of those fruits I buy year round. Well, at least I try to. There comes a point in the summer where I only buy a few because their price is outrageous. Good thing it is now Fall and I can go back to buying bags of apples at Sam’s Club.
Since I do buy apples in bulk the last few often get extra ripe. The kids can only take so many apples. BUT I have found a way that they will keep on eating them – Pecan Cinnamon Roll Bites. Thank you to the blog Tune My Heart for the idea!!
These Pecan Cinnamon Bites taste just like a pecan cinnamon roll with bits of apple here and there. It’s absolutely delicious! The apple in there makes it healthy, right?! We CAN pretend. Either way these make a delicious dessert, snack, or even breakfast the kids won’t turn down! Just as good as my Caramel Pecan Pie or Apple Granola Streusel Muffins. Well, maybe better…I LOVE cinnamon rolls!!
Pecan Cinnamon Roll Bites
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup brown sugar packed
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 tbsp butter melted
- 1/3 cup pecans chopped
- 2 small apples cored and sliced
- 1 8oz can Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking pan with a silicone baking mat (you could also use foil or parchment paper).
- In a small bowl combine the cinnamon and sugar. Measure out the pecans. Core and slice the apples into thin pieces.
- Using a pastry brush evenly douse each triangle with melted butter.
- Heavenly coat each triangle with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Top with pecans, maple syrup, and apple slices (making sure to start from the wider side of the triangle). Roll into crescents.
- After placing the crescents on the baking sheet douse the tops with butter and sprinkle any remaining cinnamon sugar mixture on the tops.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden. Let cool for 5-10 minutes and enjoy! Goes great with vanilla ice cream if you are having these as a dessert!!
These look divine! I love using cresent rolls.
I love crescent rolls too. So many uses!
Yum!!
Great recipe!
Thanks for linking up at Merry Monday 😉
Thanks, you should give them a try!
I am really not a fan of cinnamon but love those cinnamon pretzels. Thanks for offering a different kind for me to like,
You just may like these 🙂
I would think that during the summer you would want to habituate your kids to the pleasure of eating Thompson seedless grapes, which are then in season.
As to whether I LOVE cinnamon rolls, I eat a lot of cinnamon-raisin English muffins, does that count? Anyway, your pecan cinnamon roll bites look delicious. It occurred to me that the Girl Scouts should start selling them every year – what do you think?
My kids are eating grapes now. They are so expensive here in the summer but the price is perfect now 🙂
That looks delicious.
cinnamon rolls with apple are good. I am going to try rolls with the pecan. Thanks for sharing with us.
The pecans add a little something something 🙂
I’m all for pretending. I believe these Pecan Bites rarely make it to the table, My family would eat these right off the cooling rack.
Haha. That’s what happened to ours!! They are best right out of the oven 🙂
The pecan cinnamon rolls look awesome. I live fairly close to a number of apple farms. We go apple-picking at least a couple times in the fall and come back with a half bushel or so. As a result we’re always on the lookout for new things to do with the giant bag of apples that are in the closet this time of year.
I’m jealous, Ken. I always wanted to go pick apples at the orchard when we lived in KY. Can’t really do that here in hot ole Texas. I have a lot of apples right now too. I think I’m going to try to make a tart with them 🙂
I like how quickly these could be done. And, of course, they look delicious.
Yep, quick and oh so tasty!
Krystle this recipe looks fantastic! In fact I have a shopping run scheduled for this afternoon and I’m definitely going to give this a try. Thanks for the inspiration.
I hope you love them as much as my son did!
These sound and look delicious. My husband loves cinnamon buns – I’m sure he’ll enjoy this variation.
If your husband loves cinnamon buns Donna he’ll adore these 🙂
These pecan, cinnamon pastries look delicious! There is nothing like home baked pastries and cakes.
I totally agree! I think I might try to make a tart today 🙂
Pecans, apples, and cinnamon? You’ve definitely got my attention! I’ve bookmarked this recipe for future use. Thx!
Yes, such a great combination!!
