Music is an incredible gift that is inspiring and healing. The Sing for Hope non-profit foundation is dedicated to sharing music to the people of New York who need it the most. This foundation helps contact talented musicians and artists with community groups who love the arts and who need its incredible inspiration. Sing for Hope connects performers and visual artists with schools, hospitals, and other community centers so that those people can have the incredible joy and inspiration music brings.
These pianos are then placed at various open places in New York so they can be seen, played and enjoyed by anyone passing by. This is an amazing program that has brought incredible enjoyment to the people of New York. Each piano comes with its own individual tarp to help protect it from the weather, and volunteer technicians are assigned to help check on and care for the pianos.
This public installation takes place in June every year. This year, another aspect of the Piano Installation has begun, as these pianos will be donated to city schools once the program has ended. This is an incredible way to share the gift of music with public school children to further their enjoyment and to help with their musical education.
This program has been put in place through a partnership with the NYC Department of Education. These pianos will go to help an estimated 15,000 school children in New York through this amazing program.
What’s needed now is more volunteers and more contributions to help keep the music playing. If you or a loved one is interested in volunteering with this incredible piano program, we need your help! We need piano painters and other volunteers of all kinds. We also need funds to keep this program going. Please consider offering help in any way you can. Let’s keep the music playing and lets all Sing For Hope!
