Last year I was lucky enough to review BabbaBox, the monthly subscription box filled with fun children's activities to do together as a family. BabbaCo was so nice to let me try out another one of their awesome boxes – the Kitchen Science box. It was May's theme.
Kitchen Science is such a fun theme. I know my boys both love measuring and helping out in the kitchen so this theme was perfect for us. Our kit came with all the necessary things to do four fun projects.
We decided to do the Bouncy Ball project first. Mixing glue (1.25 0z) with Borax Water (1 Tablespoon Borax & 3 Tablespoons Water) and some food coloring (4 drops) made us a cool little ball that really does bounce. It doesn't bounce high or anything but my boys sure do love it because they made it. The first thing they wanted to do with it was bounce it back and forth together.
I can't wait to do the Magic Mud, the Oozing Volcano, and the Lava Lamp with my boys. We are sure to have a blast doing these projects together. The projects only take 15-30 minutes to complete and keep kids busy while engaging their minds and senses. Can't beat that! What is your favorite craft activity you like to do with your children or by yourself?
It’s probably a good thing that it doesn’t bounce very high. I’ve had students make hand poems where they have to write five descriptive words about themselves. Another fun activity I’ve tried is to have students make a paper chain of their best traits. I then joined the links together for the whole class and hung it around the edge of the whiteboard.
True. Not telling where that ball would end up if it bounce too high. I’d have a lot of broken things I’m sure. I like the hand poem idea!
