Is your backyard looking a little bit sad after winter? Does it look like it could use a bit of a pick-me-up? Mine does.

With spring in full swing, now is the perfect time to get outside and give your yard the TLC it deserves. Before you know it, it’ll be grilling season, and you’ll want your surroundings to be top-notch for your summertime gatherings.

Get The Green Lawn Of Your Dreams

The colder, grayer weather of winter and early spring can take its toll on the grass. What it needs is the sunshine, a good haircut, a touch of fertilizer, and some regular sprinkler action. Before you know it, it’ll be well on its way to being the soft green carpet on which the kids love to play.

This is the perfect time to sprinkle any brown, sparse patches with grass seed too. The slightly wetter weather will ensure they root nicely, and the grass should be lush and green, just in time for summer.

Get Your Backyard Trees Some TLC

Trees can really suffer in winter. They’re battered by the harsh weather, covered in ice and snow, and many branches succumb to the cold.

This makes the spring a great time to call in the professionals. They can give them a bit of a haircut and make sure they’re still healthy. If you have any large trees on your property, be sure to call a premier tree health company to help you out.

Large trees that become unhealthy or damaged can pose a real threat to your property and the rest of your yard. If you are concerned about a tree, it’s always worth consulting a professional company to help you out. They will be able to catch any diseases or rot early on and stop in its tracks before it kills the tree or spreads to others.

Encourage Flowers To Bloom

Flowers are the most beautiful things in the garden. They bring color and life to an otherwise very green space – making it literally buzz with life.

Make sure you plant them in the right areas, though. Some flowers don’t cope well with direct sunlight or shade, and others aren’t happy in certain types of soil. Just remember, the more flowers you plant, the more bees come to pollinate the garden, and the more flowers grow!

Create The Perfect Backyard Patio For Entertaining

The grass is perfect for picnics and playing, but it can take a toll on an adult’s back after a while. It’s always way more comfortable on the patio in a proper chair. When you create a patio space you love, it’s as good as adding an extra, outdoor room to your home during the summer months.

Be sure to give the patio a good clean, removing any grime that has built up over the winter. Then it’s time to furnish and decorate. The fun part!

Furniture with removable cushions guarantees you comfort but allows you to keep the cushions safe from the elements. A big plus! When you’re decorating, go for bright and colorful accessories like pillows and rugs but neutral-colored furniture. This way, you can change the feel anytime you want!
