muffin My boys and I like making muffins together. Usually they are the simple packet muffin mixes where you just add milk but sometimes we do special things. Some of my kid’s favorites are my apple granola streusel muffins or twisting up packet muffin mixes by making two in one muffins.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to try OvenArt Bakeware Silicone Muffin Pan (standard muffin pan size). Let me tell you it’s awesome! I have a regular metal muffin pan and this one is so much better. I don’t have to bother with muffin liners like I do my metal one. If I don’t use liners with my metal muffin pan I know I am in for a night of scrubbing.
ovenart muffin pan
With the OvenArt Bakeware Silicone Muffin Pan NOTHING sticks. All of the muffins come out super easy with just a little cooking spray (used before baking) and a push from the bottom of the muffin cup. This muffin pan is pretty floppy but it’s a none issue if you use a baking sheet like a tray for the silicone muffin pan.

I found out that it’s actually a good thing this silicone muffin pan is so floppy. Unlike other sturdier silicone muffin pans OverArt’s is free of cheaper, plastic filler material that other companies use. It’s floppier but you won’t have to fear the plastic fibers ever producing odors or compromising the nonstick performance like they do with sturdier silicone muffin pans. It’s just as safe as Ozeri’s Green Earth Pan that’s also free from toxic chemical coatings which makes it even better!

Like with most other silicone pans and baking mats I think they require a few extra minutes cooking time than metal pans do. It takes longer to cook but you’ll save time on clean up so it’s a win. It’s also very durable being safe for use in ovens, microwaves, freezers, and dishwashers.

To test out my OvenArt Bakeware Silicone Muffin Pan I decided to make a breakfast muffin. Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Crescent Muffins. They are an easy breakfast that you can make ahead of time and freeze for quick breakfasts in the morning. Plus the kiddos love them!

Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Crescent Muffins

Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Crescent Muffins
Ingredients

  • bacon
  • eggs
  • shredded cheese
  • package of crescent rounds
  • optional: pepper and salt

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350F. Flatten out a crescent round into a one muffin cup coming 2/3 up the sides. Make sure the crescent round is pretty thin otherwise it won’t cook completely.

Partly cook the bacon (a couple minutes on each side), place in muffin cup, and crack an egg over top. You can use two pieces of bacon per muffin cup to make a circle. I was low on bacon so I only used one. Cook for 20-25 minutes. If it’s not cook completely keep checking it in 3 minute intervals. When they only have a few minutes left sprinkle with shredded cheese and cook until it’s melted.

They turned out awesome and popped right out of my OvenArt Bakeware Silicone Muffin Pan. Would highly recommend you try both!

What is your favorite quick breakfast meal?

Disclosure: I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I completely agree with the hint of using the cookie sheet for support. I like silicon bakers but the floppiness is a hurdle. 🙂

Yes, a baking sheet makes the silicone molds much easier to move. I tried it once without and I was lucky everything didn’t fall out.
