Are you wondering what the best professions for mage races are? Don't worry. We got you!
Gamers have been playing the classic video game Warcraft for over 20 years. WoW Classic is just as popular as the most recent iterations since many gamers become sentimental when they hear about the good old days.
Various boosting services are highly popular among most players in World of Warcraft, particularly among seasoned gamers with many years of experience playing the game, especially on those servers where gamers should begin their trip at level 1 rather than proceeding from level 70.
Wow classic boost is helpful to pass difficult PVE and PVP content. Playing this game is thrilling and enjoyable, but it takes a lot of time. Without some outside assistance, it will take you endless hours to keep up with the other players. Therefore, employing a boosting service is a fantastic option to genuinely enjoy the game if you are unwilling to dedicate all your valuable time to it.
One of the most popular races in the game is the Mage. And today, we will talk about the professions of this race. The professions should be considered in more detail since a player can study only two, and it is best to decide on the choice right away. Let's divide the professions into three subgroups: collective, useful, and useless.

This group includes important professions that allow you to collect certain types of reagents necessary for other professions.
Mining
Undoubtedly, the most profitable and, in our opinion, the best professions for mage races in the game is mining. This is because three production professions rely on it at once: engineering, blacksmithing, and jewelry. Therefore, the demand for precious stones, ore, and ingots never disappears.
The profession of a miner includes two stages: digging out ore and stones and melting ores into ingots of pure metals and alloys. Moreover, the skill level increases from both the first and the second processes.
For the first stage, you will need to buy a pickaxe, which is enough to carry with you in the inventory. To melt ingots, you need to be near the melting furnace.
Having learned to mine, you will get the ability to detect ore deposits — the search for minerals. By turning it on, you will see yellow circles on the mini-map marking ore veins. As a rule, they are located on the slopes of mountains, in caves and ravines.
Herbalism
Herbalism is the mining basis for alchemy. It is often and quite undeservedly considered an unprofitable occupation. Collecting herbs does not require any special tools and consists only of the ability to find plants.
Thanks to the efforts of developers, almost every blade of grass in the WoW world has its specific growing area. For example, myrrh grows only in sunny glades, and Ghostly toadstools grow in dark dungeons.
Skinning
Leather is the main resource for tanning, and it is also used in almost all other manufacturing professions. To remove the skin, you will need a special furrier's knife, which can be purchased from merchants. This knife is enough to carry in the inventory. You do not need to take it in your hand.
Characters extract the skin from almost every animal killed. It can also be removed from some overgrown humanoid skins, for example, yeti. The higher the level of the killed beast, the higher your skill for skinning it should be.
To find out the required skill level, you need to multiply the level of the person you are going to skin by 5. For example, if you want to skin a level 30 lion, you will need a skill of 150+.
USEFUL WORLD OF WARCRAFT PROFESSIONS FOR MAGES
Alchemy
Alchemists can make all kinds of potions (increasing parameters and restoring mana/health) and transform reagents. Along with alchemy, herbalism is usually taken, which provides almost all the necessary reagents for alchemy.
Enchantment
It allows you to add magical properties to things. It does not create new items but improves existing ones. Shards are used as reagents, which are released from other magical things which are destroyed at the same time.
Since enchantment does not require a collective profession, the second profession can be chosen either another profession that does not require a collective one (for example, tailoring) or any of the reagents extracted for sale at auction.
Engineering
A rather specific profession that allows you to create various devices that help both in combat and in everyday life. The second profession is mining, which provides most of the necessary reagents.
Tailoring
This profession allows you to produce clothes from fabric (only these clothes magicians can wear), as well as all kinds of bags. Pieces of matter are used as reagents, which can be picked up from the corpses of defeated enemies so that you can take enchantment or any of the mining professions for the sale of reagents as a second profession.
Jewelry business
Jewelers make all kinds of rings and amulets, as well as stones that can be inserted into special things with sockets. The second profession would be logical to take mining, providing the necessary reagents.
USELESS MAGE WARCRAFT PROFESSIONS
This group includes those professions that a magician does not need unless you decide to sell everything you make.
Blacksmithing
The end products of this profession are either melee weapons or heavy armor. Neither one nor the other is necessary for the magician.
Tannery
It's almost like with blacksmithing: magicians can't wear leather armor.
Final thoughts on best professions for mage races
The most promising combinations are enchantment/sewing, jewelry/mining, and alchemy/herbalism. If used correctly, they will provide you with a stable income and good support. However, no one prevents you from having fun with engineering.
So choose the profession of your Mage carefully to participate successfully in the game activities. Considering that Blizzard constantly pleases its fans with new additions – for example, at the beginning of October 2022, they announced the availability of the first three raids in Wrath of the Lich King. So good luck to you!
I’ve always found skinning plus tailoring to be a great mage combo.
Thanks for the Wow Classic mage advice!
