We all know the old saying, that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That without it we will be sluggish, more likely to snack and actually end up fatter as we eat more throughout the day to compensate for missing that one meal. Many have believed it to be a fallacy. There are those that simply cannot face the idea of eating as soon as they wake up, that are keen to skip meals to keep their weight down or even those, which is the most likely scenario, that just don’t have the time to eat first thing in the morning. We have all overlooked the importance of the first meal of the day but recent studies have shown that it is far more important than we ever realised.

Regularly eating breakfast is considered to be the secret to staying healthy. Research has shown that we increase our chances of becoming obese, being prone to diabetes and even a heart attack if we do not place more importance of the first meal of the day. Those that eat breakfast everyday are a third less likely to suffer from obesity compared to those that skip meals. The need to eat breakfast does not mean we have to overindulge and eat a large meal when we wake. Things like cereal, toast, and other quick, small foods are the perfect option especially for those that find it difficult to face food that early or simply fit in the meal in their mornings. It is important to gain some sort of nutrition through both food and drink to set us up for the day and to stabilise blood sugars and reduce the need to snack.

There are ways to make breakfast more exciting and more in keeping with the types of foods you enjoy and are able to eat considering the early starts that most of us face. Most importantly, there are appliances, which will ensure we are gaining the nutrition we need to support our bodies and encouraging us to eat more regularly. Things such as smoothie makers, waffle machines and toasters are the best way to ensure we are having enjoyable foods at the right times. While coffee machines and water machines provide us with the necessary fluids.  A Krups coffee maker water filter provides the opportunity to enjoy a coffee to start our day, which so many people depend on, whilst providing us with constant fluids to ensure we are fit, healthy and hydrated.

Having breakfast will ensure we are full which greatly reduces the need to snack on unhealthy items throughout the day to cure our hunger. You are filled with instant energy that sets the day off to a good start and will mean we are more productive within our jobs.

Obesity and the conditions that stem from being overweight are very real concerns and can have serious affects on our health and general well being. The popularity of fast foods has always been extreme, particularly for those that regularly skip meals and need a quick resolution to the hunger they feel. The constant eating of fast and unhealthy foods will result in weight gain, feeling tired and sluggish and starves our bodies of the nutrients that we need. There is a simple solution to living a healthy lifestyle and preventing medical issues that will hamper our everyday lives, and it all begins with what really is the most important meal of the day.

I have always been one to eat breakfast because I know how important it is. I always try something light so it doesn’t weigh me down throughout the day. 🙂

I can’t eat when I first wake up. Nothing sounds good to me at that time. I’m lucky to drink my coffee lol.
