Black Friday kicks off the holiday shopping season with great deals that are hard to resist. Yes, you have to deal with the crowds and wake up really early to get the good deals, but most of the time the savings are worth the hassle. Cyber Monday is the follow-up shopping day for online deals. Unfortunately, some people waste money on these shopping days because they’re in a hurry to shop instead of taking the time to think about each purchase.

It’s easy to get caught up in the shopping frenzy, but you need to take a step back and really think about the purchases you’re making. Before buying anything, ask yourself if the item will be memorable, if it’s going to last, and if it will get a lot of use. If you can answer yes to one of these questions, you won’t be wasting your money. Consider purchasing gold jewelry as a gift because it fits in all three of these categories — you can't go wrong.

Buy Gifts that Are Memorable

If you ask someone what they got for Christmas last year, most people will only be able to remember one or two things. That’s because memorable gifts take time and effort. The best gifts are the ones that are personalized. For instance, giving your mother a gold locket with your picture inside is a lot more memorable than giving her a book that she might read once. Memorable gifts show that you took the time to think about the other person. It’s more than buying a person’s favorite candy.

Buy Gifts that Will Last

Cheap toys and gifts that break easily aren’t going to last for very long and will have no value in a couple months. You should try to buy things that will last for years, and you could even look for things that will increase in value. For instance, investing in gold jewelry is smart because gold prices have continued to rise, even during the recession. So, that gold necklace you buy today will probably be worth a lot more in a few years from now. It’s practically a gift that keeps on giving.

Buy Gifts that Will Get a lot of Use

Additionally, the best gifts are those that will get a lot of use. It’s hard to predict this with toys, but avoid fads and things that are only appropriate for a certain age. Classic toys like yo-yos, board games, and dolls are sure to be winners with the kids because they will get a lot of use. Gold jewelry is a good gift option for adults because jewelry can be worn over and over again.

If you’re somebody that is easy allured by a good deal, take the time this year to make sure you’re purchasing things that will be memorable, long lasting, and get a lot of use. Gold jewelry is a really good option because it increases in value, will get a lot of use, and will also last long. You can even personalize your gifts to make them even more memorable.

I definitely agree with all of this! Too many times we get caught up in the hussle and bustle of the holiday season that we never really think about the gifts we are purchasing. My daughters still have gifts left in packages from LAST YEAR! I am tempting to wrap them back up and put the under the tree again this year! LOL!

You are so right. My kids also have some gifts from last year that they haven’t opened yet. I felt they were the right age for them yet so I saved them.
