Have you noticed how Halloween is the time of year where most woman throw all dignity out the window? Things are hanging here and popping out there. Very few just stick to a cape or classic costumes anymore.

It's no wonder though, most female adult costumes are, well, a little slutty. It's just the thing with most character costumes portraying females. Some stores do give you a choice though. You get the covered up version or the street walker version. Personally, I don't like my goods hanging out in front of a bunch of kids, but that's just me.

This year I did want a cute costume though. I wanted to be covered in the right places for the most part but still cute and a little sexy. It never hurts to be sexy (or in my case cute since people probably think I was trick or treating). I saw the Red Riding Costume on Buy Costumes and thought it was adorable.

The costume itself really surprised. It was very well made. Heck, the back of the costume actually had a real zipper. I don't think I've ever seen a costume zip (although I mostly deal with kids costumes like Knights and Zombies). It was a one piece red and white gingham dress with a faux black corset front with an attached petty coat and apron.

All of the fabric was a little see through so I wore a tank top and a skirt underneath the dress. The dress itself wasn't overly short but a tad shorter than I would of liked. Adding my skirt underneath added some length and a little more poof to it which made it perfect. The hooded short cloak was made of a nice silky fabric. That kind that you just want to keep rubbing between your fingers.

As for sizing, I think it was pretty true to size. The costume fit me great and I'm 5'3, 113 pounds, and a C in the chest. I chose size small which they deemed a 6-8. I can usually wear 4's (in pants) but the size extra small was a 2-4 and I'm definitely not fitting in a 2.

I just loved my Red Riding Hood costume. I added trouser socks, black shoes, and a basket to complete the look. I am totally going to make my husband be a wolf one year so we can be in theme together. Have you ever dressed in theme with another person or group?

Disclosure: I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I do love that costume. I usually am a witch. I may need to change that ups next year. This may be a good choice. 🙂
