I have always been a dessert fan. I blame it on my grandfather. When I was little every time I would stay with him we had a tradition of eating dessert when it got dark. It was our thing. To this day, I hanker for something sweet at the end of my night.
However, I don't always need a full bowl of ice cream or a whole batch of chocolate chip peanut butter cookies, just a little sweet will do. That's why I love these Easy Oreo Brownie Trifle with 2 Minute Mousse. They are just the right size to satisfy my sweet tooth without packing on a ton of pounds.
I made these mini trifles in some brandy glasses my grandmother gave me. They hold about 5.5 ounces. There's no way I'd be drinking brandy out of them (yuck!) and are super adorable for these trifles.
To make the mousse I used a raw organic cacao powder by Freedom Superfoods. Cacao powder isn't the same thing as cocoa powder.

Freedom Superfoods Raw Organic Cacao Powder is great for anyone with allergies. It is unsweetened, vegan, kosher, non-GMO, gluten-free, unprocessed, and non-alkalized. They know exactly where their product is coming from making it easy to produce small batches in their FDA approved facility that's free from the all of the 8 major allergens.
This cacao powder gave a rich dark chocolate taste to the trifle. It's flavor mingled perfectly with the rest of this dessert. Just remember when you are shaking the jar to make the mousse, you may want to give up 30 seconds in. Don't. Your arm may hurt a little but the end result is worth it. It makes it a delicious mini treat for any night of the week.
