Things You Can Do to Further Your Career While Still Staying Safely At Home

Many of us have been spending a lot more time at home these days. Millions of Americans have enjoyed the time away from the office. If you are anxious about what the future holds and you want to stay home, there are plenty of ways you can work to further your career while you remain safely at home.

Here are some tips for staying home while earning a paycheck.

Although remote work offers perks that traditional work can’t—such as work-life balance—concerns still linger like career advancement. Here are some tips to keep in mind!Click To Tweet

WORKING FROM HOME DURING COVID-19

Submit Your Resume Electronically to Work from Home

If you are thinking about changing careers, or you are interested in staying with a virtual job, you should think about submitting your resume online. There are lots of places that allow you to submit your resume online.

You may want to make sure your resume is posted on aggregate websites such as Indeed, LinkedIn, and specialty job websites such as iHireConstruction or Flexjobs for virtual work.

By submitting your resume to several locations, you’ll be able to find a job that allows you to continue working remotely from home.

Think About Job Mentoring

If you are in mid-career, you may be able to mentor other workers who are just beginning their careers in a part-time or full-time job called virtual mentoring.

You can practice virtual mentoring from home, which is a great way to educate people about the job you love while you remain safe at home.

Many people find themselves looking for another job while they are at home, and this is a perfect way for you to make money and stay home.

Work at Home with Additional Training

One of the many questions people have about remaining at home is that they may not have enough training for the career they want.

If you are worried about your career path, you may want to get additional training online. This is the perfect time to get the training you want online and earn money training others.

For example, you may want to move into the technology certification education job path.

Many people are getting training in coding or on work platforms such as Google. Training certificates from Google, Microsoft, and other tech companies allow you to up your wow factor on your resume. Once you have certification, you can earn money by training others while staying home.

In addition to short training, you can attend postsecondary education courses online. Everything from vocational and technical training to bachelor and graduate degrees. There are universities online both locally to you and across the nation.

While going to school, you may want to look for job opportunities in the digital education world. You may be able to look for a new job while you are training for a new job as well.

What About Therapy or Other Service Jobs?

If you are a licensed therapist, you can begin practicing online in many states. Online therapy has become increasingly popular during this difficult time.

There are entire therapy communities devoted to online therapy programs. Some online therapy programs specialize in addiction recovery, while other programs specialize in women, children, or domestic issues. This is the perfect time to try your hand at online therapy if you are licensed.

Don’t just restrict your search for online therapy. Many professions, such as editing, writing, design, legal, and even medical professions, now have many employees online, as the world moves increasingly to online commerce.

Take a look at what service jobs are online and whether you have the qualifications to apply.

One other area you need to consider is education in the K-12 system. Many children have fallen behind with school closing in the last year, and many require tutors to help them catch up to their peers.

Also, many parents are interested in their children learning a different language. There are tons of tutoring jobs at every level, and you never have to leave your home.

No matter what kind of interest you have, you will be able to move online, work from home and keep yourself safe as well. Virtual jobs allow you to work from anywhere at any time of the day or evening.

You’ll be able to stay in your home safely, engage with family and friends, and earn money as well. It is easy to make an educational or a career change–all from the comfort of your home.

Take a few minutes and think about how you can change your career path by working at home.

Do you have any working from home tips for success?
