I’m disabled, but I try real hard to keep moving my legs so they stay lucid and strong as they can. Then the pandemic forced us to stay in our homes.. I really became complacent. I fell into a deep depression when both of my brothers died within a few days of each other in February of 2021. I was finally coming around to start going out again to get some fresh air and start to socialize again—even with the family. That November my husband found out his HepC was active and he died May 5, 2022. I just wanted to die! Over 41 years together and my walking partner. He loved to go outside! He golfed, did house work, visited his family and friends. He made sure that I started to get out again! Even to go grocery shopping!
I knew staying in the house like a hermit was really hurting me and gave me a lot of time to think of the sad things and not of God’s beautiful things He has blessed me with! I make going out a happy challenge! I love the sun and hearing the birds chirp and becoming alive again! I recommend getting out of your safety zone and finding a whole other world out there! Thank you for sharing this meaningful article!!
I’m so sorry to hear about your brothers and husband – that’s awful! I would probably be a hermit for a while too to grieve. I’m glad you are getting out again and finding things that make you happy.
