This is my mother in law, Linda. I first met her when I was 17 years old. My first glimpse of her was mowing the lawn with one of those riding mowers. It was the day I met the best person in my life, my husband.
She made this guy, making her one of my favorite people ever! My husband and I have now been together 15 years but I still remember hanging out in her house when we were just kids. She always had a pantry jam packed of snacks and cereals. It was a teenagers dream.
Cereals have always been one of my favorite snacks. I particularly like them in place of dessert. They give you that sweet something you are craving with less calories. These days my boys eat cereal practically every day after school as a snack. They never seem to get tired of it and they have been eating Cheerios™ since they started solid foods as babies. It was one of those things I always packed a baggie of in the diaper bag as a quick go to when they got cranky.
When I saw Cheerios™ was doing a “Buy a Box. Give a Free Box” offer at Walmart, I knew I just had to send it to my mother in law. We now live thousands of miles away but this little something will let her know we are always thinking of her.
You can join in on the fun and get your own specially marked boxes of Cheerios™ at your local Walmart – it's the ONLY place with this offer. Once you have bought one of these boxes at Walmart, enter the code online, and fill out an E-card for someone you love. They will receive a coupon for a free box of Cheerios to use at their local Walmart. Spread the love!
My mother in law's birthday is in May and I wanted to make her something special with Cheerios™. We live in Texas and she lives in Kentucky now so baking her something was out of the question. Then I remembered those cute cookies in a jar ideas that are always floating around Pinterest.
Her favorite kind of cookie is oatmeal raisin so I decided to make her a twist on that including Cheerios™ to make them breakfast cookies. I call them Birthday Breakfast Cookies. Now she can make them herself but think of us with every bite.
I hope she enjoys them and knows we miss her dearly! “Share a Box” with someone you love today.

I’ve never made cookies with cheerios before. They look really good! The jar would be such a great gift for someone special 🙂
I never would have thought to make cookies with Cheerios! But they seem like they would add just the right amount of crunch.
Cereals have always been a favorite snack in our home too. My boys like to fill a cup of cereal and munch on it while watching television. Cheerios is a staple in our home.
The breakfast cookies in a jar is a wonderful idea. I love to create gifts in a jar but I never thought about giving it for birthdays.

Sweet of you to think of your mother in law and send her a cute gift! Very creative adding cheerios to the cookies!
Just like you, I also love cereals as a snack or a dessert. Sometimes I have them with green tea for breakfast as I like to have something crunchy.
Cheerios will always be a staple cereal! Especially the honey version but i love the birthday cookies this is innovative!
That has got to be one of the best gift ideas, putting all the ingredients you need in a jar and that’s it. It’s simple and it makes great treats, anyone who receives a jar or two will totally appreciate it.
What a great gift idea! I love the “baking in a jar” concept, I think it’s something that everyone will use and it’s so cute. Especially if you take the time to make it yourself, it just makes it all the more special!
What a great idea! I love gifts like this, but I never really see them for birthdays. Perfect!
