How To Create The Best Images For Pinterest

How does your Pinterest game look these days? If it’s not its best, don’t worry, many of us are in the same boat. Many Pinterest users, both personal users, and business users, often find themselves wondering how they can make the most of Pinterest and the best ways to use it. Pinterest is different from other social media platforms. It is technically considered an image-based social media but is often looked at as more of a search engine. The search engine is driven by images that are placed there by users. That means that learning how to create the best images for Pinterest is extremely important to the growth of your business.

How To Create The Best Images For Pinterest

If your goal is to grow your Pinterest reach and, subsequently, grow your business, you need to focus on creating the best images. I know it is a daunting task, but I assure you, I’m here to help!

Here are some tips for you to follow on how to create the best images for Pinterest.

Use Keywords

Just like with SEO on your website, you need to put a focus on keywords for your Pinterest image.

Your keyword needs to be in your image file name as well as your pin description.  This needs to be done with every single image you upload to Pinterest.

Fill out the Pin Description

Make sure to take the time to fill out the Pinterest description area. It is far too easy to take the lazy way out and not fill out this portion of the pin.

The description should not only contain the keyword, but also the details about the pin and what they will find when they click the read it button. This will help drive the reader’s engagement.

Choose Clear, Bright Images

The best images see the best success on Pinterest. That means that it is imperative to use clear, bright images. Ones that will bring attention.

Before uploading your photo to Pinterest, take the time to study the image options that you have, and choose the one that brings the most of your attention.

Use a Photo Editing Program to Improve Images

If you need to do any touch-ups on your images, you can use a program to improve them. Here are some of my favorites.

Canva

Canva is definitely my favorite tool for creating the best images for Pinterest. Canva allows you to create amazing Pinterest images in just minutes. Canva has thousands of Pinterest templates that can be customized to your preferences.

When you are ready to check it out, Canva has both a free and a paid plan.

PicMonkey

PicMonkey is a very popular photo editing program that is easy to use. I like to edit my photos here before heading to Canva to add text and design.

PicMonkey also has a free and a paid plan.

Fotor

Fotor is a great program that is like the perfect combination of PicMonkey and Canva. It has photo editing tools as well as templates and outlays for creating Pinterest pins.

Fotor does not offer a free option and the plans start at just $8.99 per month.

Focus on your Image Text

Your image text is just as important as the image itself. Here are some tips to be sure and follow when you are creating the text for your Pinterest image.

Use A Large Font

While you don’t want to hide your images, you do want to use the largest font that you can.

Additionally, make sure that not all of your font is the same size. The change in sizes is ideal for captivating viewers.

You can find a lot of freebie fonts online with a quick Google search.

Focus on the Font

Many calligraphy and handwriting fonts can be difficult to read. Be sure to use these sparingly.

A script font, however, is perfect for a focal word you want to highlight.

Additionally, don’t use too many different types of font in one image. You want to avoid making your Pinterest image look too cluttered.

Use the Correct Language

Who is your audience? Be sure to use the correct language for the audience you are trying to reach.

Use Your Brand Colors

Stick with your brand colors and themes when creating Pinterest images for your business. If you consistently use the same branding, your readers will begin to recognize your pins right away.

Solve a Problem

Just like with any business idea or any blog post topic, your Pinterest image needs to offer help, or the ability to solve a problem for the reader. That is what they are looking for and that is why they click on links.

Now that you know how to create the best images for Pinterest, you can go create and share! You’ve got this!
