How Virtual Mentoring Helps New Moms Transition Back Into Careers

Modern women have to deal with many problems – from impossible beauty standards to gender role expectations. At the same time, one of the most significant societal issues for modern-day women is becoming a mom and, at the same time, having a decent career.

New moms trying to transition back into careers from taking care of the newborn baby certainly don’t have it easy. It is both because women struggle with establishing a new, fresh mentality to deal with the work and the problems awaiting them in the job market.

Women building their families face a set of challenges different from the one men encounter. Learn how virtual mentoring can help you return to work!Click To Tweet

Luckily, those struggling with coming back to work after having a baby are no longer alone. New programs of virtual mentors are here and ready to help new moms get back on track.

If you, too, would like to discover how virtual mentoring programs can help moms transition back into careers, read on.

The Solution Virtual Mentoring Programs Have to Offer

Virtual mentors are a sort of hybrid between career managers and lawyers or tax specialists. They are a new way of communication between an individual struggling with transitioning back to the job market and business owners interested in having such an individual on the team.

Virtual mentoring programs help new moms and other people struggling with returning to work with transitioning back into their careers. In many cases, virtual mentors act as a middleman between those out of work and employers looking for candidates.

However, virtual mentors also act as “job coaches”. They help those seeking employment either gain necessary experience or get professional advice on how to improve their CV.

A person who needs help with returning to work usually has two goals. One is getting a job and the other is finding one that matches the person's qualifications.

The latter is entirely dependent on the first goal – finding work after being out of it for so long can be extremely challenging for many people as they start getting quite rusty while being away from the job market for some time and having no relevant experience to show.

That is why virtual mentors help job seekers find jobs that match their needs under very specific conditions. Naturally, this dramatically increases the chances of finding a match, which will highly benefit both employer and employee!

How Advisors Support New Moms

Advisors, including virtual mentors, take care of new mothers by helping them transition back to the workplace. This project helps moms in two ways. It offers them peace of mind knowing that they are not alone in their struggle. Plus, it provides them professional advice on how to find a job after their maternity leave.

Both of these aspects can be crucial for moms because their situation is somewhat tricky.

On the one hand, they are going through some of the most challenging moments in their careers due to fatigue after raising a child and difficulties coming back to work.

On the other hand, they are expected to deal with problems like establishing completely new connections and trying to understand the situation they are in clearly.

In that way, those who have gone through similar experiences can offer moms some peace of mind, showing them that there is no need to rush through things right away. It is better to take it slowly and do things properly.

The advisors will let those looking for a job take a step back from the situation, regroup themselves, and go on.

The Bottom Line

These virtual mentoring programs are not only beneficial for new parents who are struggling with getting back to work, but they’re also great for entrepreneurs who are looking for people with specific skills and experience.

Such programs help them find first-rate candidates for their vacancies, with first-rate qualifications and recommendation letters. Thus, they save time – as well as the money spent on advertising campaigns.

The best thing about such platforms is that they allow you to communicate with a pool of qualified applicants and choose the one that fits you best.

Even if you do not hire an applicant, their resume rating will encourage others to apply to your position. That means that you will definitely be hiring a qualified employee eventually.

I have never thought about virtual mentoring before. But I can definitely see how it could be beneficial. Especially for us moms who haven’t worked for awhile.
