Although the kids might have thought they’d love a long break from school, being told you have to stay at home gets old fast. After quarantine, everyone will want to get out of the house. Here are some ideas you can do with your kids after quarantine to keep them happy and out of the house.
Activity Centers
These centers are fantastic for keeping your kids entertained. There’s always a lot to do, meaning that there should be something for everyone to enjoy.
If one of your kids has a birthday, why not celebrate at one of these places? Options to have kids’ birthday parties at Urban Air or similar venues are available and will make it an event to remember.
Amusement Parks
A day out to Disney or your nearest amusement park is perfect if you and your kids are adrenaline junkies.
You could even turn it into a weekend trip if you wanted to, and the kids would certainly love that! There’s always loads of restaurants and shows to keep families entertained when they’re not riding the rollercoasters. Some even have water parks to enjoy, too!
Beach
If you live on the coast or near a big lake, heading down to the waterside one sunny day could be a good idea. Pack a picnic to enjoy as you listen to the waves or stroll down the boardwalk and dine in a nice restaurant that overlooks the water.
There may even be arcades around, which will offer additional entertainment for your kids.
If not, building sandcastles and exploring the dunes is just as fun. Work on your tan as you spend some quality time together as a family.
Museum/Galleries
If you want to inspire your kids with a bit of culture, head out to some local art galleries or museums. This will be a great opportunity for them to learn something, too.
Take a day trip into the city where there will be plenty to choose from, or if you have a favorite local spot, you could always visit there instead.
Take a guided tour with your kids so they can hear the history and facts about what you’re seeing from an expert. Some places even offer extra activities for children to keep them entertained.
What’s even better is that most of the places are free to go to!
Open-Air Theatre/Cinema
During the summer season, there are a lot of outdoor performances available to attend. Some groups set up open-air theatres, which could be an excellent experience for your kids to watch a play in the park one afternoon.
There are also open-air film screenings taking place all over, which could be fun to go together as a family one evening.
There are many ways you can keep your kids entertained and out of the house after quarantine; above are just a few suggestions you might want to try.
Family love is messy, clinging, and of an annoying and repetitive pattern, like bad wallpaper.
I like the idea of museums and outdoor theaters, but I don’t know if amusement parks are going to open this Summer. In KY, a lot of the community swimming pools and waterparks have announced that they will not open this Summer.
My friends in Kentucky have told me the same thing. Some parks may open with limited capacity
These are great ideas. I hope this is over soon!
Looks like lockdown is slowly easing up everywhere
(Keeping The Kid’s Entertained After Quarantine) My oldest son and his wife have done an amazing job of keeping my seven year old grandson entertained while the Corona Virus has been going on. For three weeks now they have even had to do the home schooling and it has gone very well from the sounds of it. They are both great parents and have a lot of patients with him since he has been home now for three weeks.
Your son and his wife sound like they are doing a great job with their kids! Quarantine hasn’t been easy
