As a mother I am always looking for healthy snacks. Kids are way to tempted to head straight for the cookies and other junk food. That is why I am so glad that both of my boys enjoyed the KIND snack bars I received.
Big bug's favorite was the Blueberry Pecan + Fiber bar but he also enjoyed the Fruit & Nut and Blueberry Vanilla & Cashew Bars. All of the bars are pretty sticky since honey is one of the main things holding them together, but who can complain when your are getting so many different nutrients all from one source. These bars are also gluten & wheat free, contain no cholesterol or trans fats, and are an amazing source of fiber.
Have a nut allergy? If so, you definitely want to steer clear of these healthy snacks as they are packed with a variety of nuts. You could maybe try my pumpkin seed brittle. Less healthy but yummy! KIND snack bars are perfect for a snack or a great addition to any school lunch. So much better than throwing in fruit snacks and just as simple.
However, some people do not have things so simple. People like John Gelalia are still affected by the devastation Hurricane Sandy caused almost one year ago. KIND Healthy Snacks and Waves for Water have teamed to help him gut and rebuild his home that was destroyed by this terrible event. KIND was able to give $10,000 and the generosity of their time to this project, but more help could be used. For every view this video gets one more dollar will go towards this firefighter's home and hopefully bring more awareness to situations just like his. Do the KIND thing! Do you know anyone that was affected by Hurricane Sandy?
I did watch the video and WOW is that powerful, Krystle! I love programs like this and it’s wonderful to always see us help each other out in time of need. We may have our issues in America but we are a very giving, bonded society in the time of need. Good post! 🙂
I am too glad that we can bond when it is really important. I feel for those affected.
Sweet! Those bars would be great for kids, but also great for hikers as well. I’ll keep an eye out for them next time I’m shopping.
I agree. Great for any outdoor activity I think 🙂
I do not know everyone personally that was affected by hurricane Sandy, but it was devastating to our state. What a wonder way to give back.
I know it was a terrible thing. I’m glad there are so many people willing to help others with this great devastation.
