Have I ever mentioned my husband is half lizard!? Well, not really but he does have a pretty bad case of psoriasis. When I first met him he had one spot on his head and claimed it was from a childhood injury. Which is totally possible. Injury to the skin can cause a psoriatic skin changes known as the Koebner phenomenon but in his case I'm not sure since it has spread to more locations.
Over time more psoriasis spots showed up. He has it around his hairline, ear, in his scalp, and most recently his shins. He pretty much ALWAYS has dandruff. Psoriasis itches! I'm always picking or flicking something out of his hair. He's my personal snow globe. Poor guy.
The National Psoriasis Foundation says:
Plaque psoriasis is the most common form of the disease and appears as raised, red patches covered with a silvery white buildup of dead skin cells or scale. These patches or plaques most often appear on the scalp, knees, elbows and lower back. They are often itchy and painful, and they can crack and bleed.
He has gone to a dermatologist a few times. The creams and ointments usually help at first but then tend to do no good. My theory is that he stops using the products as frequently. He'll forget and put it on here and there. I've also heard you can become immune to the benefits of these products over time.
My husband decided to give Cheryl Lee MD TrueLipids Skin Protectant and Hydrocortisone a go instead of his usual steroids creams.
Cheryl Lee MD products are the first skincare products in the market to be truly therapeutic, hypoallergenic and non-toxic. The technology behind our amazing skincare product line is called  TrueLipids®, and it has helped many people manage their sensitive skin conditions without the use of prescription steroids.
TrueLipids® technology works with the skin to augment its own barrier repair mechanisms in restoring a disrupted skin barrier and in sealing out allergens, irritants, and infection. This means that our products provide deep, effective lipid delivery (which is crucial for maximizing treatment) and long-lasting moisture while helping to repair the skin.
My husband saw no real changes in the plaque psoriasis on his legs after using Cheryl Lee MD TrueLipids Skin Protectant and Hydrocortisone for one month. It's no wonder really – doctor prescribed medications barely work on him! I on the other hand had much better success with Cheryl Lee MD TrueLipids.
I'm not sure what the deal is with my skin but periodically I get red, dry patches on my face. It typically shows up in the same spot when it does occur – my left cheek near my nose. This last time however I had the privilege of it showing up near the corner of my mouth too. Lucky me.
It's scale like. When I am in the shower I can rub it off only to leave behind a red patch. Eventually it just becomes scaly again. I have not figured out the trigger but I did find Cheryl Lee MD TrueLipids Hydrocortisone cures it.
Within a day or two of using Cheryl Lee MD TrueLipids Hydrocortisone I could tell a huge difference in my skin patches. The scales were lessening as was my red color. The pictures above have a 10 day lapse. Pretty good, huh?
Today my the redness and scales are completely gone and I have not had another relapse of my mysterious skin patches since using Cheryl Lee MD TrueLipids. Fingers crossed that it continues!
My biggest concern about Cheryl Lee MD TrueLipids is the pricing. At $50, it’s pricier than your typical off-the-shelf lotion. It’s also very different from your off-the-shelf lotion. They have a 30-day money back guarantee so there is no risk in trying it. If it doesn’t work, you can just send it back and they’ll refund you. Nice!

I am happy that Cheryl Lee MD TrueLipids came out good for you. I hope your husband will be fine soon…..
I do not have any skin problem but my father had a problem 5 , 6 years ago , I am not sure what it was but as I remember , it was something like plague psoriasis ,as you have explained , my father used a lot of medicine but nothing helped , he tried all , I remember he was having a lot of itchy and use to rub his leg specially with knife to remove dead skin.. Poor guy. Finally someone told him about a normal oil easily available in market he tried that and from last many years we even forgot about that problem of my father.
I’m so glad your father found a solution. If you find out what kind of oil it was please let me know. My husband could use any help he can get.
Looks good
Thanks! My face looks much better 🙂
Being part lizard is no fun. I have an underactive thyroid and it generally makes my skin very dry — ALL OVER. I would love to try to try it sometime. Anything to help.
I hate it that your husband has psoriasis. I have known people with some really bad cases before.
Thanks Holly! I’m sorry to hear about your skin. I often get really dry in the winter. Then when I lay in bed it makes me itch real bad. Ugh.
Ok, so you understand. You just go to bed itching, which is a horrible feeling. Thank goodness someone invented the loofa.
I need to buy me one of those 🙂
They are AMAZING (and sugar scrubs, too).
I don’t get a chance to take my time in the shower but when I do I’ll have to give it a shot 🙂
