It can be tough to find time to learn new things during the workday. There often isn't enough time to get everything done between answering emails, attending meetings, and completing tasks. But what if you could make yourself smarter during your lunch break?

Believe it or not, there are several things you can do that only take a short amount of time. In this blog post, we will discuss five different ways to improve your intelligence during your lunch break!

If you're looking for ways to make yourself smarter, look no further! These five tips will help you learn and grow during your lunch break. Click To Tweet

Play a game or puzzle that makes you think

If you're looking for a way to challenge your mind, doing puzzles can be a great option. Crosswords, Sudoku, and other logic puzzles are perfect for improving mental flexibility and problem-solving skills.

Then, there is Klondike solitaire. It is a great way to train your brain to be more strategic. We play it on our computer and find it a great way to spend our lunch break.

There is not an undo button and you physically have to drag/drop the cards which we love. We like a good challenge!

It is perfect for when you are eating lunch alone because it requires concentration and focus, so other people will not want to bother you.

Also, don't forget about hidden object games. They are great for stimulating your mind. They require you to find hidden objects in pictures, which helps improve your eye-hand coordination and attention span. We were always a big fan of “Where's Waldo”.

You'll be shocked at how well numbers can hide in plain sight and will like unlocking each level (it's actually kind of addicting). They have a variety of themes, such as castle, pirate, and more. Don't worry; it also has a difficult side to it. Every stage is timed, with every random click subtracting 5 seconds from your overall time limit.

Listen to an educational podcast

Podcasts are great because they allow you to listen while doing other things, such as eating lunch or going for a walk. Podcasts can be downloaded ahead of time and listened to on your phone during breaks at work.

If you're looking for something specific, such as business or personal finance advice, there are plenty of podcasts that can cater to your needs. But if you're not sure where to start, TED Talks Radio is an excellent option for anyone looking for educational and inspiring content.

Get some sunlight

A lack of sunlight has been linked with decreased cognitive function. So, during your lunch break, try to get outside and enjoy the sun! Even if it's cold out, a quick walk around the block can do wonders for your mood and brain function.

If you can take your lunch break outdoors, that's even better. Eating in nature has been shown to improve focus and creativity. Not to mention, it's a great way to get some fresh air and vitamin D!

Meditate

If you're looking to improve your memory and concentration, meditation can be a great option. It's also the perfect way to relieve stress during lunchtime when things get hectic at work!

There are many different types of meditation, so it's crucial to find one that works for you. Some people prefer guided meditations, while others choose to meditate independently.

An excellent place to start is with the Headspace app, which offers guided and silent meditation sessions for people of all levels. They also have a free version that includes basic instructions if you're just getting started!

Listen to music

Listening to music can help you feel more relaxed and focused during your lunch break. It's a great way to take a mental break from work and recharge before returning for the afternoon.

Different types of music can have different effects on our brains. For example, classical music has been shown to improve focus and concentration, while upbeat music can increase energy levels.

If you're looking for something new to listen to, why not try out a few different genres and see which ones work best for you? Spotify and Apple Music both have great options for finding new music.

Conclusion

You can do many different things during your lunch break to improve your cognitive function. From playing games to listening to podcasts, there is something for everyone! So, try out a few of these activities and see which ones work best for you. And don't forget to enjoy your lunch break – it's important!

Can you think of any other ways to make your brain smarter during a lunch break?
