Having a good thermometer is very important when you have children. They touch everything and aren’t the most hygienic creatures. You never know what germs they will come across to make them and most likely other people in your household ill. We have one of those EXERGEN Temporal Artery Thermometer that we just adore. It’s quick and easy. No waiting around or sticking it unpleasant places is necessary.
But if you are having a pot luck buffet party for instance, having hot or cold foods at the correct temperature would be extremely important to prevent foodborne illnesses. However, this can be extremely hard to do without the right tool. That’s when a MeasuPro IRT20 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer comes in handy (remember though that this measures the surface temperature not the internal temperature).
A MeasuPro Infrared Thermometer is a thermometer that requires no direct surface contact to accurately read a temperature. It uses the most advanced laser technology to takes temperatures on gross things, super hot things, or even fast moving objects.
The MeasuPro IRT20 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer is very easy to use. You just point the laser on what you want to measure while holding in the trigger. To read the temperature, release the trigger and it will display the temperature measurement of your choosing (Celsius or Fahrenheit) on the backlight LCD screen (backlight and laser can be turned off if you choose). The temperature reading will be held on the screen for 7 seconds allowing you plenty of time to read it.
I tested the MeasuPro Infrared Thermometer in my vaulted kitchen area. We all know heat rises and this thermometer showed that. We scanned at the very top of the kitchen down to the floor and as we went we could see the temperature decrease just like it should. I also compared the room temperature reading to our thermostat and it was very close.
The makers of the MeasuPro IRT20 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer say:
This non-contact infrared thermometer has been designed for a broad range of uses including automotive diagnostics, HVAC service, electrical troubleshooting, cooking, and food preparation.
This product is FDA and FCC approved and RoHS compliant. It measures a range of -50 to 380°C (-58 to 716°F). The response time of 500ms guarantees an immediate reading. The no-sweat rubber oil finish makes it comfortable while using. It also features a low battery indicator.
I can’t wait to try my MeasuPro Infrared Thermometer this summer when we are basking in the sun BBQing! It’s a great little temperature gun. Nice ergonomic design with a rubber type coating that’s fast and accurate. Would recommend!
