1. Power Sources for Camping

If you have a small child, it may be good to put a power source on the family camping trip list.

You may need it to charge up electronic devices or cook food. There are many options available that runoff of different sources. For instance, portable solar panels draw energy from the sun, making them ideal for camping trips.

2. Camping Friendly Children's Potty Chair

You may still be training your children on using the restroom and need to bring a potty chair to help them feel more comfortable. Additionally, your family camping trip list should also include tissues, wipes, and other toiletries. Consider getting an extra tent for privacy, so your little one can feel more at ease.

If your child is a bit older and beyond the potty training age, you can bring other tools that will make it easier to relieve themselves. For example, female urination devices help girls effortlessly go out in the woods.

Some people prefer to use a bucket with an attached toilet seat, and others may use disposable waste bags. Make sure you bring soap and hand sanitizer to kill harmful germs on your hands afterward.

Nature is full of beauty and wonder, but it's also full of annoying pests. You want to keep bugs away from your family, especially harmful ones like mosquitoes and ticks. To keep them from feeding on your children, put bug repellant on your family camping trip list. Consider purchasing a repellant that'll be gentle on the skin and non-toxic.

Additionally, you may decide to bring bug zappers, torches, or candles that repel mosquitoes and other pests. Just make sure to keep these items away from your kids' reach to avoid any accidental injuries, such as electric shock or burns.

When out in the woods hiking, put extra long socks and pants on your children to help prevent ticks from latching on to them.

4. Extra Clothes and Blankets

It gets chilly out in the wilderness, so always put extra clothing and blankets on your family camping trip list. Sleeping bags are also helpful for camping to keep everyone warm and dry. Bring towels for each family member if you get wet or go swimming.

Bring coats and jackets for layering on cold nights. Depending on the season, bring an appropriate hat for each child to protect their heads. Carry cozy beanies for winter and floppy sun or bucket hats for spring and summer.

For footwear, walking shoes or sneakers will work. Boots are also excellent and may protect ankles and legs from the weather and bugs. Extra underwear and socks are a must for kids.
