When a new baby is added to a household, a lot of changes take place. You might not feel prepared, but no one ever does. Making sure you have all of the necessary items will make you feel a bit more prepared. After all, taking on the responsibility of a new baby and all that comes with it is MAJOR.
Take a peek at some of the must-have items of moms everywhere.
Of course, we are going to mention this; it’s an essential part of everyone’s life. However, knowing precisely what you’re going to need is a bit trickier.
As a general rule of thumb, have a handful of outfits, a few onesies, zip-up pajamas, socks, and hats. Make sure there are a couple of sizes of each. Babies grow like weeds!
Diaper and Wipes
Again, the more you get, the better off you are going to be. Even if everyone brings a pack of diapers with them to your baby shower, you will run out and need more.
With people purchasing so many diapers, make sure they know to mix up the sizes now and again. It’s wise to pay attention to overnight diapers as well. Your precious sleep is on the line!
You will be using diapers for a good three years, at least, so a variety of sizes is best. The more, the merrier!
As for wipes, I still use them, and I have a 10-year-old. You can never have too many wipes. They are great for cleaning hands and craft messes as well.
Cribs, bassinets, and co-sleepers are all perfect for baby to sleep in. Take it a step further and grab a Baby Box! You will need a safe place for your baby to sleep. These options will help reduce the risks of SIDS.
Make sure the crib does not have a drop-down side. These types of cribs have been recalled due to their high incidents of accidents.
Whether you choose to bottle or breastfeed, having the items that go along with feeding times is essential. Bottles, bibs, breast pumps, formula, and so much more can be purchased for a baby.
Make sure everything is sterilized and ready to go before the baby comes home.
Make sure it is something that is lightweight and can easily hold the baby seat if needed. It will allow you to have a bit less stress while doing everyday tasks.
No one wants to grocery shop while holding a baby! That’s why a travel system is a must.
Giving birth to a baby at the hospital means that they are not going to let you leave without an approved car seat. Look into top-rated ones and choose the one that works the best for you and your budget. Many even come in car seat and stroller combos like in the travel systems above.
It is always a good idea to be prepared as much as possible, especially when it comes to having a baby. Having everything you need is just one of those ways to be ready and rock parenthood.
