You probably think I am going to say something cool like “Best Places to Eat a Hamburger” or “Best Family Vacation Spots Ever”. Sorry, to burst your bubble guys, while San Antonio is completely awesome, it is also in top five most challenging places to live with spring allergies this year. Lucky us!
I can believe it too! Just looking around the parking lot at my local Target, you can tell who parks their car in the garage and who does not. Those that do not (me) have a lovely yellow dusting of pollen covering their cars.
This time of year my boys start sneezing. Seasonal allergies can affect their sleep and energy levels making it harder to concentrate at school. It totally annoys them too!
Just because the air here is filled with allergens during the spring, that doesn't mean we have to hide indoors. It's beautiful outside and we want to be out there enjoying life, especially my kiddos.
For us, spring means LOTS of baseball and scavenger hunt nature walks – the boys are always looking for neat rocks or critters to catch. It drives me crazy finding random rocks around the house, but they love their “treasure”. It is WAY better than creepy crawlies running around the house!
One of my best tools to keep the kids out and about despite their allergies is Children’s Claritin®. Since I don't want my kids cooped up behind a screen all day, Children’s Claritin® is a must when allergies strike. It helps give my children 24-hour, non-drowsy allergy relief. You know, so they can actually enjoy life with less symptoms like a runny nose, sneezing, or itchy, watery eyes getting in their way.
If your children suffer from allergies like mine do, go ahead and grab Children’s Claritin® in Target's healthcare section near the pharmacy. Right now you can save 5% when you purchase Claritin® using the Cartwheel offer. Visit this link to learn more.
I think I might be developing an allergy to msg. I have never had a problem before but the last time I ate chinese food I broke out with hives all over.
Ouch! That’s not good. My grandmother randomly becomes allergic to things she’s had before. I hope you took something!
Our family on all sides are very lucky no one has allergies. I have saw my friends and their kids with not pretty
Yes, it is not pretty at all 🙁
I had a pollen allergy when I was younger. Never took anything for relief.
Why didn’t get take anything for it? I have to try to make it go away.
(OMG, Kids! San Antonio is in the top FIVE Cities!!) I can relate to this good reading article for sure. My third oldest grown son has suffered with seasonal allergies since he was a little boy. He was tested at age five and one of his biggest allergies is grass. He still suffers to this day at age 32.
We really need to get tested. I hate guessing what we are allergic to.
I don’t have any allergies. My partner doesn’t either.
You guys are SO lucky. A lot of it depends on where you live. My husband never had allergies in Kentucky but he does here in Texas.
When I was 7 I was diagnosed with a list of allergies. Since then I haven’t had any problems. I’m unsure if I have any other than being allergic to in-laws.
Haha Allergic to in-laws. I want to do some allergy testing this winter to see what I’m actually allergic to.

Lucky girl! I wish my allergies would just go away.
I have used Claritin for my son before, it works very well. I also have allergies and use Claritin. It is amazingly helpful.
I use Claritin for my kids and myself too. It tastes great too! I sneak the kids version sometimes 😉
Never thought about the kids version…it is grape if I remember right…
Allergies are the worst. I am down to try anything for my son that will work.
I agree! Allergies bite, but I’d rather have them than a stomach bug lol.
Allergies are so challenging, I thing a visit at the dr is a must before taking anything! The kids look so fit and cute!
Thanks! The boys keep me active LOL. I plan on going to an allergist this year to see what I am actually allergic to. It’s just been a guessing game so far.
I forgot about San Antonio… but there’s definitely more pollen that’s out this season than other seasons.
This allergy season has been pretty rough. My poor grandmother has it awful.
My son uses this stuff and it works well for him. It sounds like your area is a great place!
San Antonio is awesome but the allergies are no joke. Everyone complains about them.
Allergies can be a horrible beast especially when you want to be outside. Claritin is what has been recommended for my kids by their pediatrician!
I know what you mean. Why suffer indoors when you can easily go outside with Claritin!
I love using Claritan. This year, my allergies seemed to hit hard and fast which is hard to function with a new baby in the house. Thank goodness Claritan has helped me feel better
Congrats on the new baby! I hope your Claritin® helps you make it through allergies so you can concentrate on what is important.
What a nice post! My kids and I both have allergies, yet my Husband is blessed with a clear noes year-round, haha. We have just been using Benadrly but it makes you sleep, so sometimes it sucks the fun out of sprig and summer. So I’m glad that Claratin may work, I have to check it out! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
My husband never had allergies until we moved to Texas. Now he has to take medicine every day or he complains.
It is great to know that Claritin works for some people. I have never tried it. I have allergies and I will consider purchasing it.
It’s always worth trying until you find what works best for you.
I’m an allergy sufferer and depend on Claritin for everyday living. But I didn’t know they had a kids one! My little one also suffers from seasonal allergies, so I’ll have to look into that for sure!
That’s great you are a Claritin® lover too! The kids one is just as good 🙂
We suffer with allergies here in Kentucky. Pollen has been awful here. Our pediatrician recommends Claritin so we already use it. I love that it is non drowsy so my kids can keep playing during the day.
I’m from Kentucky too. I just moved to Texas from there 4 years ago. I’ve found I suffer allergies at different times of year here than there.
I have always wanted to visit San Antonio. I suffer from pollen allergies. Thank you for these suggestions, I will check it out 🙂
It is a great city despite the allergies
That’s awesome! I’ve always wanted to visit San Antonio.
I hope you don’t want to visit for the allergies LOL
You reminded me when my black car use to get covered in pollen over there ? really cute pictures 🙂
Dusty yellow cars are everywhere in the spring. My neighbor’s tree covers my black SUV LOL
Pollen is horrible this time of year and allergies are making my family crazy too!
Yes, it is. Thank goodness for Children’s Claritin®!
I used to have really bad seasonal allergies as a kids. My whole face would get swollen and itchy. I used Claritin until i got a prescription.
Wow. That sounds really bad. It sounds more like a food allergy or even something you touched.
I really liked the way that you “tongue-in-cheek” referenced San Antonio as a Top 5 for allergens. I have had hay fever and asthma for most of my life so I know how important something like Claritin is to be able enjoy the outdoors minus the allergy symptoms,
Yes, products like Children’s Claritin® are so important to be able to love the outdoors again.
Wow this Children’s Claritin® sounds like a great product. Thank you for sharing this!
Children’s Claritin® is AMAZING!
I suffer from seasonal allergies every year. Thanks for recommending this product, I will check it out soon
I’m sorry you have allergies too. It’s no fun!
I am glad that Claritin works for some people! I have had to switch to Zyrtec but I’m glad that there’s a variety to choose from.
I can’t do Zyrtec for some reason. It really messed with me the one time I tried it. It is always great to have choices!
My granddaughter and I both have seasonal allergies at almost the same time span. The difference is I didn’t know there was a children’s Claritin. I’m in a wheel chair so I don’t go out shopping much. I’m not sure why my daughter hasn’t discovered it.
Sounds like your daughter needs to go to the store and stock up on children’s Claritin. It works wonders!
That’s crazy! I have friends who live there though and have told me it is pretty bad when it comes to allergies. We get it pretty bad here in Florida too
It is REALLY bad. I’ve had so many people new to the state complain to me about it.
I give my son Claritin daily! It is one of the only things that actually works for his allergies and in preventing cough/colds!
That’s great you are a Claritin lover too. I didn’t think about it helping colds too – nice catch!
