3 Online Job Ideas for Full-time Moms

Perhaps there is no job more challenging than being a mom. In our kids’ hearts and minds, we are their nurses, teacher, chef, friend, and their very own Wonder Woman. In short, we are everything to them. And honestly, it feels great and rewarding, which is why we’re always ready to give them everything they deserve. But as we said, it’s not easy, especially when you think about financial constraints. This especially rings true for those who do not have a primary source of income. Although many stay-at-home moms these days want to go back to work, they are not willing to do a typical 8-5 routine. One logical reason could be that they think such jobs would consume so much of the time, which could be spent bonding with their kids instead. This apprehension is valid, but there are plenty of online jobs for moms out there that do not require so much of your time and energy. If you’re not sure where to start, here are a few online job ideas you might want to explore:

Online Language Teacher

If you have an exceptional command of a language (English, German, Spanish, etc.), and your communication skills are naturally off the charts, then this gig is for you.

All you need is a fast internet connection and a personal computer with an HD webcam.

If you look at Preply’s online tutoring opportunities, you’ll find tons of people offering good rates to private tutors who can teach them a language of their choice.

As parents know, juggling life’s responsibilities on a daily basis often make them highly skilled at multitasking. If you are looking to make some money at home, check out these online job ideas! Click To Tweet

What to expect?

As an online language tutor, expect to hold one-on-one video lessons with students of all ages from different countries.

They also have diverse backgrounds. From kindergarten kids to brand managers, you’ll meet a lot of people who want to learn a new language.

Also, you would have to prepare lesson materials depending on your students’ learning needs. Your preparation time may vary, but it’s not going to take that much time if you already know what you are teaching by heart.

Just don’t make learning hard for them as if it’s another weight on their shoulders. Make sure that learning a language can be fun.

Lastly, each class could last up to an hour or two, and you can always customize a schedule that works for you. You can earn $50 or more for a day, depending on how much time you are willing to spend.

Believe it or not, some clients charge up to $200 for an hour.

What are the challenges?

You need to prove yourself first. Every day, you have to work hard towards becoming a better teacher to your students, so they would trust and choose you more often.

This way, you would be able to keep your ratings high. And once they do, bookings will start coming to you quickly.

Content Writer

Got a knack for creative writing? Have you always been interested in sharing stories and imparting ideas?

Be a content writer!

Unlike online language teaching, content writing doesn’t require you to be in front of the camera all the time to accomplish work. This means no more dressing up to look the part!

Just put your writing chops to use and be ready to do a lot of research on various products and services.

What to expect?

A content writer’s task is to produce clickable content to increase brands’ online traffic in a nutshell.

But it’s not as easy as it sounds.

Once you start writing on a particular topic, you’ll find that there is already a sea of articles on the internet saying the same thing about that topic. This means that the actual job is not just to write but also to create something unique and engaging.

Your write-ups should stand out to bring in a large number of readers.

What are the challenges?

Taking in clients could take time because you have to build your portfolio if you don’t have one yet. You also have to prove your capability to gain the trust of the brands you are offering your services to.

Finally, projects can get overwhelming. Some of them can take a long time to finish depending on the type of content and the length of time you spend working on it. Don’t worry, though, because you’ll eventually get the hang of it, and when you do, the job is going to be smooth-sailing.

Virtual Assistant

Helping people get through the rigors of their day-to-day is always a pleasure. But imagine if you can do it and get paid.

That’s what virtual assistants do. They provide administrative, creative, and technical assistance to clients. If that’s something you think you’re good at, this online job is an opportunity you shouldn’t pass up on.

What to expect?

Contrary to the first two online jobs, this one doesn’t hinge on a specific skill. However, versatility and well-roundedness are vital in being a virtual assistant. You can expect to be responsible for several things.

Some examples are email management, data entry, social media management, graphic design, and sales funnel. It can even get as simple as creating a PowerPoint presentation.

Just as long as you have the right set of soft and hard skills, you can succeed in this job.

What are the challenges?

Some clients would expect you to work for them full-time, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It only becomes a problem if you take in more clients than you could handle.

If you’re not sure, try testing the waters with one client first. Once you’ve gauged your capability and you’re entirely sure that you can take more, try offering your services to another client. This way, you’ll be able to work at a comfortable pace.

These are just some of the popular home-based jobs for moms online, but there plenty of ways to earn money to support your financial needs.

Piece of advice: Be patient and learn the tricks of the trade, and before you know it, you’ll have all your bases covered. Good luck!

This is very helpful advice, thank you so much for sharing! I am currently a full time homemaker taking care of and homeschooling my 3 kids. However, it would be nice to be able to work from home and help with the Bill’s as well.

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate — homeschooling is difficult and might as well be a full-time job!
