Salad, Summer, and Wendy’s!!! #BeyondTheBowl #CleverGirls #ad

Summer is literally right around the corner. In about a week and a half my boys will be out of school enjoying summer fun in the sun and of course a bit of extra sleeping. With summer almost underway the heat will be ramping up as well. When it's hot outside I particularly like eating cooler foods like salads. Instead of sweating it out eating a high calorie hamburger I like to cool off with a fresh salad.

Wendy's is my go to place for fresh, fast, and absolutely delicious salads. I like my salads to be extremely fresh. This means no wilted lettuce or the disgusting taste of slightly rotten tomato or browning lettuce. I've actually been served these gross things in sit down restaurants. Sad, I know.

BUT Everyday at Wendy's there's a staff member chopping up fresh lettuce and vegetables not prepackaged frozen items. You won't be getting yesterdays leftovers wrapped up in a box! Wendy's even places warmed, freshly grilled all white meat chicken on their salads instead of cold meat that was cut up a few days ago and stored in the fridge. It's so nice that someone pays attention to quality and makes it a priority!

AND Wendy's salad selection is amazing. It's not just lettuce with a couple carrots thrown in – they are masterpieces made for your taste buds. Take the salads Asian Cashew Chicken, BBQ Ranch Chicken, and the Apple Pecan Chicken for example. Each one of these salads comes uniquely crafted and themed including the dressing.

I just tried the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad for the first time. It was more delicious than I was expecting. SO much more! It contains red and green apples, roasted salted pecans, blue cheese, dried cranberries, and all white meat chicken. You can tell the ingredients are top notch – the apples are from Michigan and Washington orchards and the blue cheese is made from locally source Wisconsin milk. Each ingredient was carefully picked for a reason and your taste buds can't tell this with just one bite.

You know what brought this whole salad together for me!? It was the dressing!! The Apple Pecan Chicken Salad comes with Pomegranate vinaigrette dressing. It's delicious! I have to admit I stuck up my nose at the sound of it at first but one taste and I was hooked. It compliments each ingredient perfectly. I highly suggest you go with the dressings that come with each one of these amazing salads. They are there for a reason and you won't be disappointed!
