We all want to save money. When you have a family, the struggle is even more important. Money is a hard thing to come by especially if you have a large household. It makes sense to save where you can and to cut unnecessary expenses.
But, it’s also important your kids don’t notice the struggle or go without. Chances are, you still want to provide them with treats and fun days. I know I do even when money is tight! And, the good news is that it’s entirely possible to do, even on a budget. All it takes is a little know-how!
BUY WHAT’S ON SALE
To ensure you can treat your children now and again, it’s worth buying what’s on sale. The market is competitive, and companies are forever trying to beat each other’s prices.
If you haven’t got anything specific in mind, look for something that’s got money off, or is on a two-for-one deal. That way, you won’t break the bank with your splurging! If you have a specific gift in mind, you can still save money. Use the internet to help you compare prices, and buy from the cheapest retailer you can find.
MAKE PLANS AROUND YOUR DEALS
You want to take your kids on plenty of days out too, don’t you? Active families love to get out and about! The trouble is that attractions aren’t cheap, and a day out can end up costing an arm and a leg.
Instead of paying over the odds, plan your days around the deals you find. As well as saving money, this can be a fantastic way to find new attractions you never knew about!
SAVE MONEY WITH PRE-PLANNING
Those deals aren’t the only way to save on your day, either. Pre-planning can save you a lot of money, too. Before you set off, do a little research into the best way to get there. Fuel isn’t cheap, and the less you use, the better.
Work out the most roundabout route you can take. This also saves you getting lost, which costs time and fuel money! Eating out is another huge cost, especially when there’s a lot of you eating. Instead, make a packed lunch to take along. This saves money and can be a lot of fun too.
KNOWLEDGE IS KEY
As with most things, the secret to saving money is knowledge. Knowing what to do, and where to look for deals, is the best way to save big. Research tips to save money and see what you find.
The good thing about the internet is that you don’t have to wait for coupons in newspapers anymore. There are countless websites that offer money off deals or coupons on anything you can imagine. From meals out to fun days for the family, you won’t be disappointed!
You can also read reviews about survey junkie if you need to make some extra cash whilst trying to save.
Bear in mind that you need to keep checking back on the sites you find. In most cases, new deals appear every day. Don’t give up if there’s nothing for you. The perfect deal could be just around the corner!
These are all good ideas. When it comes to making sure kids have a fun day out, I’d say kids are just as happy spending the day at a park, on a playground, or picnicking with their family, as they are at an expensive amusement park, lol.
I think a lot depends on the child’s age. Entertainment is harder to figure out once your kids are older
These are great ideas. I always look for sales. Especially on clothing.
I do too especially when it comes to clothes for myself
This is how it should be! Saving money doesn’t have to be depressing.
Exactly! Saving money can be a fun and happy thing too! Half the time we don’t even notice anything different.
Thank you for some great ideas for vacations within our means!
