This post was created in partnership with ScriptSave® WellRx. I was financially compensated for this post but as always, all opinions are entirely my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that support me! #scriptsave #wellrx #savings
As a family of five that includes my elderly 93-year-old grandfather, I've seen just how outrageous prescriptions drugs can be. To keep his health in check he takes eight different prescription medications every day.
For someone who doesn't have good prescription drug coverage or you're one of the ‘lucky ones' that have to take a special medication not covered by your insurance, this can be a nightmare. And, if you have no insurance, you're probably quite scared.
Even for us individuals that have insurance, copays and deductibles still add up — quick! What if you could easily find the lowest prescription drug prices in your area (without spending tons of time and energy scouring pharmacies and making calls)? Well, now you can with ScriptSave® WellRx.
The first time I was introduced to ScriptSave WellRx was through my dermatologist. They gave me a handy little card and told me to use it since most insurance companies didn't cover this particular prescription. ScriptSave WellRx made this prescription bearable. Without it, there was no way I'd consider even attempting to purchase this prescription — the price was crazy otherwise.
ScriptSave WellRx gives you a free ‘second opinion’ on your out-of-pocket prescription costs for your area. For example, if I search one of my grandfather's prescriptions on the ScriptSave WellRx mobile app I can easily see how I can save over $25 just by going to a different pharmacy. This makes finding the best deal SO easy!
And, now there are three new features to make your life even easier:
Price-drop Alerts
Have you ever wanted to know when the price on your prescription medications drops? It's something most of us would find very useful.
Well, now on the ScriptSave WellRx app and website you can set up free alerts for all your medications. When the price drops you will get a nifty email notification letting you know of the savings to be had.
If you are not a fan of mobile apps, no problem! This tool is completely free to use on their website, no app installation needed. Visit the ScriptSave WellRx website and set up your own price drop alerts today!
Take My Meds Reminders
This new feature is for you mobile app users.
In the latest version of the ScriptSave WellRx mobile app, you can get handy reminders to take and refill your medications.
Never miss a dose again!
Personalized Wellness & Grocery Guidance
The grocery store is full of choices. How do you know if you are making the right decision?
With Grocery Guidance on the ScriptSave WellRx mobile app, you can search or scan for food products and see how healthy they are.
It lists their ingredients, nutrients, and food index score. You can even take it a step further and view the food index based on conditions you may have (diabetes, pregnancy/maternity, or heart health).
And, if you have food allergies or dietary preferences, you can list that in your profile and this handy feature will let you know if a food doesn't fall in line.
They even offer suggestions for healthier food alternatives, giving you the chance to buy something better for you. This neat feature is perfect for keeping your grocery shopping purchases inline with your health and wellness goals.
ScriptSave WellRx sounds good! I would consider it! Thanks for sharing!
Do you have a lot of expensive prescriptions where this could help?
prescription savers like this is a blessing for some many people that don’t have insurance/prescription coverage. I used it a few times before I retired
It’s a great money saver for people who do not have insurance
Drugs sure can get expensive. It’s good to save! I can only go to one pharmacy with my insurance.
They must have a special deal with that Pharmacy
My Dr has given me coupons to help with my most expensive prescriptions. We have switched to a different pharmacy that has cheaper prices also.
I love when doctors give you those coupons to make prescriptions cheaper
I have a great prescription plan with my medicare supplement. My son however does not have insurance. I have shared this with him and he has been saving a lot since then. Thank you so much for sharing this

I save on prescriptions by using my phone and finding the best prices .. It has saved me so much money in the past two years.
Doing research is a great way to save money on prescription drugs
I have never tried this before because I have good insurance. My son does not have good insurance so I will be sharing this with him. Thank you for sharing this great article
I hope this helps your son save money
I’ve heard good things about the Wal-Mart pharmacy and Walgreen’s pharmacy and Publix Pharmacy and CVS pharmacy
My go-to Pharmacy is Walgreens because it’s only 2 minutes away
My family doesn’t take any regular prescriptions, so I honestly don’t pay that much attention to the cost of them. I really should start paying attention & saving where I can though.
Well keep this in mind because as we age we often add prescription drugs to our routine
I will consider this in the future. This is great to have for those who do not have full prescription coverage.
Yes it’s a great supplement for insurance
I use this app and it has saved me a bunch of money on perscription drugs. It is super easy to use and I’ve told a bunch of people about it.
So happy you are sharing your good experience with scriptsave
I don’t have any prescriptions luckily. My husband does have a plan through his place of employment for his though.
It can’t hurt to look into scriptsave too. It’s a great supplement and can often help you save more
Drugs sure can get expensive. It’s good to save! I can only go to one pharmacy with my insurance.
It never hurts to look around and see who has the best deal
sould like a great deal i would sign up and see what it is all about and to see if i can save.
You should try it and compare prices
My dad has diabetes which he needs insulin but we usually save on that by going online and finding coupons that will help pay some off it’s crazy but works.
Using scriptsave is kind of the same idea but is a lot easier because of the app
I only save from spending so much money on prescriptions from my insurance covering it. This sounds like a great, handy, useful app!
You should try it out, it could help you save even more
I’m on Medicare with a supplement so I have a Medicare plan but only have the basic due to cost. I try hard not to take prescription drugs unless it’s life threatening. Rely on good food exercise, keeping my weight down and natural supplements.
I know what you mean. The less drugs the better.
being a pensioner in Australia means you can fill scripts for $6.50 an item….sweet!!
That’s a great deal
I would use this because if you don’t get Medicaid which pays for your prescription ,you need to pay out of pocket. This a great money saving comparison tool.
This would definitely help if you have to pay out-of-pocket
Looks like an awesome app. Good to have. I am fortunate that I don’t have to worry about my prescription drugs. They go through Medicare and then if I have to pay anything out of pocket I am reimbursed by the VA. I pay about $15 out of pocket every 3 months and at the end of the year I turn that in to the VA and they send me a check. I do have a small premium deducted from my Medicare check every month. I could forgo the Medicare premium and go directly through the VA mail order system and have my maintenance drugs delivered at no charge. I don’t do that because I have had timing issues with mail order drugs before (not specifically the VA) and because then if I needed an expensive drug that wasn’t on my maintenance list and I needed it right away I would have to pay the whole thing out of pocket and wait to be reimbursed by the VA and I’d rather not do that.
Sounds like you get a good deal on your prescriptions
I get my prescriptions through the mail. I get 3 months supply at a time.
That’s a nice way to do it and convenient to0
Wow, I definitely need to tell my sister about this, my niece was recently diagnosed with ADHD and my sister is always complaining about her med bills haha. I myself save on prescription drugs by using generic as opposed to brand name.
I hope this helps your sister save money
I’m in an HMO Medicare Advantage plan, so I use their mail order pharmacy.
Getting prescriptions by mail is always convenient
I save my seeking out OTC options, opting for generic brands & using pharmacy discount cards. Plus if you ask the pharmacist they can often help you find the best deals.
I love when pharmacists are willing to help
This certainly is a very useful app. I will keep it in mind for my parents.
Thanks!
I’m sure your parents will love this app
I have mtdicare due to disability. Walgreens has a great point ststem to help save money also.
We are big fans of the Walgreens Pharmacy too
Sounds like a useful app! I use Walgreens and they tend to be very affordable. I think my insurance just has a set copay that I pay for all generic prescriptions drugs. So I’m not really sure if there’s much else I could do to save money on prescriptions.
It can’t hurt to compare prices
Thankfully, I only pay a one dollar co-pay on all of my prescriptions. However, I know for many others their scripts are very expensive.
Wow $1 is a great deal
We really need to try something to save money on scripts, kur insurance has such a high deductible it’s ridiculous. Got try some of the discount programs.
You should definitely try scriptsave.
I usually fill all of my prescriptions at Kroger. I have a Kroger savings card that I use for that.
Kroger brings back memories. We used to shop at those when we lived in Kentucky.
This would be excellent for my 87 year old mother in law! Thanks so much for posting!
Yes the older we get the more prescriptions we have
This is very helpful information, thank you for sharing! I do not have insurance so I always try to save when I can.
Not having insurance can be rough. You should try scriptsave

Yes saving money on medicines is always a good thing
ScriptSave WellRx provides integrated information to help save on prescriptions. An essential tool to save time and money for essential health needs.
It never hurts to save money right?
Using a card like the ScriptSave (R) WellRx can help many people save on prescription drugs. I also save by taking my formulary to every doctor visit, so my docs can try to limit my prescriptions to those covered by my insurance. However, there are still many no covered but needed, and thus the discount cards come in handy.
I’ve never heard of a formulary before. Sounds useful for saving.
I am fortunate to have great health insurance which covers most of my prescriptions. My son does not though. I will be sharing this article and information with him. Thank you so much for sharing this
I’m sorry your son doesn’t have good prescription drug insurance
I’m lucky enough that my insurance covers my prescriptions, but I’m so glad that there are savings available in general. Medication is just so expensive and it’s a real shame when someone can’t afford to pay for it.
It is really sad when someone can’t pay for their medicines they need
This program has so many great features!I would consider this.
It’s a great way to save on your prescription drugs
I save alot on my scrips cause of my medacare though social services
I’m glad you are able to save on your prescriptions
I guess I’m pretty lucky when it comes to prescription costs. I don’t have insurance, but my son works at a pharmacy and because of that, I get my prescriptions for a fraction of the cost.
That’s great having an Insider help with your prescription costs
This is awesome! I spend a fortune every month on prescription medications!
I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you are finding some ways to save money on your prescription drugs.
i have medicaid. i only have to pay my co pay
That’s great you only have to pay your co-pay
My insurance pays for what my meds & the copay is low. I will shop around or use a discount card sometimes. I recently found out I get a better deal through the pharmacy versus OTC (cheaper & I get more).
Sounds like you’ve done your research well on prescription drugs
I save on prescriptions by using the Walmart pharmacy as well using online coupons. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve heard good things about the Wal-Mart pharmacy
We use Walmart now. It’s the only Pharmacy our insurance takes – sadly. I do like how Walgreens – yes expensive, but they were open 24 hours. Great, for when you have little kids. Walmart is cheaper though.
That’s good to know. We use Walgreens because it’s literally two minutes from the house.
It definitely helps to shop around & ask the pharmacist. I get an allergy medication from the pharmacy instead of over the counter because it’s cheaper plus I get twice as many pills.
Sounds like you found a great deal!
Thanks for sharing, I don’t have insurance
This savings card would really help you out then!
I was at krogers the other day to pick up a prescription. I heard the guy at the counter, you try not to listen. She told him a price and he said he could not afford it. They went through all the different services and finally found one for him that was at least $10 less then the original cost.
these places are good to have access to
Yes, saving programs like ScriptSave® WellRx are a lifesaver!
ScriptSave WellRx looks like a very useful app. I don’t have to take scripts on a regular basis luckily but I can see that this would be great for those that do!
Keep ScriptSave WellRx in mind for your older family members!
I don’t have insurance and recently had to get meds filled. The pharmacy used something similar and saved me a lot of money. So these programs are a good thing to have.
Yes these programs are awesome
This seems extremely helpful. I usually can never save on prescriptions, but this would be a major help!
This will definitely help you save money on your prescriptions. You should try it out
