Yesterday Big Bug celebrated Grandparents Day at his school. They served all 400+ grandparents a light breakfast and then escorted them to their grandchild’s classroom. There they played math games together and read.
This was the first school Grandparents Day my family has been able to celebrate with Big Bug. My dad and grandmother were thrilled they could share this with him.
We, however, could not forget my husband’s parents back in Kentucky whom had done all the Grandparents Day celebrations till now. I had the boys make their grandpa (Pop Pop) a bookmark with their fingerprints.
My original thought was he loves the Florida Gators so I’m going to make it orange, green, and blue. Sadly, it turned out to look like a carrot so I had to improvise. This would totally work for an Easter craft now too!
Then since the boys won’t get to hug Maw Maw and Pop Pop very often now the boys mailed them hugs. I traced their hands, let them decorate their hand cutouts, cut string as long as their arms, and added a cute message. I hope they like them!
Do you have a Grandparents Day tradition?
