How to Choose a Small Bathroom Vanity Unit Effortlessly

Not every bathroom has the space for a large double-sink vanity. That doesn’t mean smaller bathrooms can’t include a luxurious, attractive, and functional vanity. Sometimes, even larger spaces benefit from using a small bathroom vanity unit. That’s especially true if users have special access requirements. Here are a few ideas to consider when choosing a new vanity.

Match the Bathroom’s Style to the Home’s Overall Motif

In most cases, the bathroom design should complement the rest of the home. For example, a bathroom that fits the home’s general style enhances a contemporary home design.

That doesn’t mean property owners shouldn’t take advantage of an opportunity to explore colors and materials that are bolder (or more sedate) than the remainder of the home. For example, blue vanities are trending for owners who want a single sink vanity, as they look rich and add a splash of color to a room that often lacks vibrant colors.

Choose the Best Type of Vanity for Your Small Bathroom

Homeowners have multiple options to explore when selecting a new small bathroom vanity unit. Free-standing vanities are common, but many design professionals recommend floating vanities for small bathrooms. Experts suggest that an uninterrupted floor makes the room look larger.

Some property owners prefer open storage under the sink. That’s possible with the products offered by today’s top sellers. Other property owners may want drawers beneath the sink rather than doors. Again, top manufacturers understand every property owner has different needs and tastes and offer products to match those needs or preferences.

Pay Attention to Bathroom Vanity Hardware

A vanity’s hardware can make or break a bathroom’s appearance. The hardware selected should fit the room’s overall style. Different hardware designs significantly alter a vanity’s overall look and feel.

Take care when selecting a hardware style and color. For example, using burnished aluminum for that blue vanity is an attractive option that adds appeal to most spaces.

Consider Different Sink and Countertop Options

When selecting a small bathroom vanity unit, owners have numerous sink and countertop choices. Some sinks are integrated with the countertop, while others use separate sinks and vanity tops.

The decision is generally based on the home’s overall style, but owners’ tastes are also essential considerations when choosing countertops and sinks. Ask a design expert for advice if you are uncertain about how to proceed.

The Bathroom Vanity Location Matters

Bathrooms are not standard. The shape and size of a bathroom’s space may dictate the type of vanity to consider. In some cases, a vanity must be in a tight corner.

In other rooms, there’s plenty of space around the vanity. Choose a small bathroom vanity unit that fits the available space and location in the room.

Consider the Quality of the Small Bathroom Vanity Unit

Local home stores always sell inexpensive single-sink vanities, but most of those options are inexpensive for a reason.

When quality is a must, look beyond local big-box stores and explore the options available from manufacturers that build quality into their products.

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask Questions

Most property owners have questions when considering different bathroom vanity options. Never be afraid to ask a provider for answers. Having those questions answered during the design process eliminates problems later. Choosing the best small bathroom vanity unit isn’t always easy, but obtaining professional advice simplifies the process. Good luck!
