bathing

You might not have noticed before but time passes by so quickly when you are bathing. Before you know it, you've already spent an hour ‘cleaning' yourself.

It might seem crazy, but it happens quite frequently. While we hope you actually cleaned yourself during this time, more time is actually spent doing the following. See if you can relate:

You read books or watch shows

Your bath time might be the best time for you to catch up with the shows you forgot to watch. Or, you've been stuck on the same page in your book for a long time, and the bath is the best time for you to catch up.

These are fun activities that will eat away your time without you knowing it.

You fall asleep

It’s also possible for you to be so relaxed while bathing that you suddenly fall asleep. The warm water and the overall relaxing atmosphere might knock you right out.

Add to that your level of exhaustion throughout the day. You might think that you didn’t make the most of your bath time, but you did. You need that power nap so you can continue doing other things.

You use too many beauty products

It’s okay if you spend time using several beauty products while you bathe. From the face down to your toes, you use specific products. If they make you feel good after bathing, keep using them.

Besides, each product has a purpose. Some of them will help revitalize your skin. Others will protect you from diseases.

If you use products recommended by your dermatologist and you feel comfortable using them, go ahead and continue the application process.

You sing your favorite songs

Do you sing in the shower? Most people make jokes that they sing well when they’re showering. If you feel the same way, you could spend hours bathing.

There's something about the shower acoustics that just makes everyone sound amazing. It gives you confidence even if in real life you would never sing in front of a single soul.

You’re thinking about what happened and what could happen

Your time inside the bathroom might be for your thoughts.

You spend so much time because you keep thinking about something that happened earlier. You might also use your time to plan for the next few days. Or, if you want to say something to another person, you also might use that precious time to determine what to say.

Forming these thoughts is a good thing. You have enough time to think about what to say and filter out anything that might be inappropriate.

You appreciate the moment

When your entire day is about facing other people and taking care of other people’s needs, you just want to be alone at the end of the day. Therefore, you appreciate whatever time you have while bathing.

You forget that hours have passed by while your relaxing in your personal shower enclosure.

Why Some People Take Forever to Bathe

If you feel energized and refreshed after bathing, enjoy it. As we know, these moments are few and far between.

I can’t sit in a tub any more because of mobility issues, even with my grab bars. I feel refreshed by my showers but like saving time, water, & energy by showering as efficiently as I can. Because of the mobility issues, I don’t wash my hair in the shower, either, but do it separately in the kitchen sink. On the other hand, I can get lost in a good book while in the bathroom. 😉 I live alone, and I can understand how a woman with a busy family life would savor long baths & showers. Lovely blog!

My grandmother often washes her hair in the sink too. I think she just finds it easier. There’s just not as much to deal with.
