This working from home post was created in partnership with Motorola. I was not financially compensated for this post but did receive a sample for review purposes. As always, all opinions are entirely my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that support me!Staying Connected to Your Home, Children, and Family while Working from Home

If you have just started working from home, you probably have some questions that need to be answered. When you have made the decision on starting to work from home you are probably wondering where do you find such work as well as does it pay enough. You might be even wondering what it will be like being a mom that is working from home.

Many think that the first step to this is finding yourself a job or starting your new business. But it is not, the first step is planning out how you will still put your children and family first, then creating your resume and taking a step back to see the whole picture that will help you decide if that is something that will work for you and your family.

The Benefits of Working from Home for Moms

Spend More Time With Your Children

When you are working from home you are able to be a part of your children’s routines throughout the day, instead of just being a part of morning or evening ones. You will be able to take a family on a lunch break and have them tell you how their day went. When you are a mom that is working from home you don’t have the unlimited time with your children, but you do have more opportunities to be with them.

You Have Flexible Work Hours

Even though people who work from home have more flexible hours than people who work in offices, you will still need to follow a schedule. Moms who work from home usually choose to do all their work in the morning or at night when the children are asleep. The flexibility will give you more time to complete your errands, keep your house clean and do that extra load of laundry, and still not having to worry about being late for work or taking time off.

You Will Save Money on Childcare Costs

This one doesn’t necessarily apply for every mom that is working from home, but in most cases, you will be able to have your children with you while you are doing your work. It all depends on what type of work you are doing and how your children are. But many Australian moms choose to go with this option.

Type of Small Businesses That Can Be Done From Home

An Online Tutor

If you have knowledge and skills like music, mathematics, or languages there are many platforms that provide online tutoring and many students that are wanting to learn from you. Because we live in such an advanced age, there are many children in Australia that are interested in taking online classes. There is no need for fancy electronics, all you need to have in order to teach a class is a camera, microphone, and headphones. With being an online tutor you will get to share your knowledge with your student from the comfort of your home.

Make a Blog

As a mom, you probably know that there are a lot of mommy bloggers that make a living off of their blogs. When you create a blog you will create yourself a little cyberspace where you will get to share your ideas, fashion tips, recipes or promote other businesses by writing reviews. The first step is to disease what type of blog you want to have and stick to it. No matter which niche you choose to go with it is important that being consistent in posting is the key for gathering the audience because you are giving them a reason to keep coming back.

A Print-on-demand Business

These types of businesses don’t require you to have a large inventory in your home or even ship things yourself. Print-on-demand will give you more flexibility to customize blank label products with the creative designs that you come up with. There are so many things that you can choose from books, blankets to phone cases, all depending on which supplier that you choose to work with. All you need to do is find your niche and go for it.

How to Promote a Small Business?

Social Media

We are all aware that social media occupies our lives. Therefore, social media is the best place to connect and find potential customers. The best thing about social media is that it is completely free to make your account. No matter what kind of business you are promoting through social media is the best way to go.

SEO Your Company Website

No matter how small your business is you probably don’t have enough time to dedicate it to digital marketing or you don’t have enough knowledge about it. The good thing is that there are so many Brisbane SEO professionals that are waiting to help you. They will help you create a perfect and strong campaign that will put your small business at the top of all the search results.

When you are working from home it is really easy to lose sight of what’s important. Most people make the mistake of letting their work take over their life. Nothing is more important than being with your family and taking care of your house.

Working from Home and Staying Connected

motorola video camera

Thanks to COVID-19, many parents are working from home while their kids are having to complete school assignments online. This is challenging to say the least especially if your child is younger. They require more assistance and hand holding which can be quite difficult when you are trying to meet a deadline.

However, things can be made much easier with the help of technology that companies like Motorola provide.

Motorola and Hubble Connected

Motorola has made it a mission to help you stay connected to everything you love and lift some of that pressure off your shoulders. They are waiving new subscriber fees for Hubble Connected for the next six months! This means there will be no hidden fees or contractual obligations plus they have also lowered their prices on useful video monitors like MBP164CONNECT Wi-Fi® audio monitor, Peekaboo Wi-Fi® baby monitor and FOCUS71 Wi-Fi® home monitor.

This has helped us tremendously!

Now, using the Motorola Peeaboo Video Camera I can help my son with his schoolwork while remaining at my desk. Before, I had to traipse up the stairs every few minutes to guide him through his assignments, but now with the help of the video monitor (and remote desktop), I can stay at my desk and continue to work.

What I do is get him started on the computer and then head down to my desk to work.

From there I watch and listen to the live feed using the Hubble App. From the app, I can remotely pan 360-degrees, as well as digitally tilt and zoom so I can clearly see his computer and what he needs to do.  If he has questions I can talk to him using the two-way talk feature. It’s been a true lifesaver!

Now I can be productive while being an attentive parent. Who would have thought—but it can be done with the help of Motorola!
