Habits that we have as adults often started in our childhood. This includes the good, the bad, the ugly, even our eating habits. The more children are exposed to different kinds of foods when they are young, the more likely their palate will be broad as adults.
A great example is my husband. His mother only fed him foods she liked which is typical American type foods – hamburgers, steaks, etc. Where I on the other will eat pretty much anything – seafood, sushi, Chinese food, foods my husband will not touch with a ten-foot pole.
Even our snacking habits are shaped during our childhood. I love pretty much any kind of fruit or vegetable whereas my husband is pretty selective. To save my children from their father’s sad, sad little palate I encourage them to try different foods and make healthy choices. They already have a much wider palate than their father which allows them to make smarter snacking choices.
So I decided to make a Super Easy Apple Butter Recipe with some of the applesauce I have on hand. It was hard to resist not to. They love eating this on pretty much any kind of bread and it’s a great after school snack too.
This apple butter is a super easy, shortcut way to make a tasty mom approved homemade apple butter. It’s quick to make too because lord knows things are always hectic around here with two active boys.
To make this delicious Apple Butter all you do is throw some applesauce in a pot with some spices and stir every few minutes. In 30 minutes, you will have a spread that will have your house smelling amazing. It will make you wish it was Fall!

I love apple butter; it is so good! I have never made it myself before though, I bet it tastes even better like this. I will definitely have to try your recipe, thank you so much for sharing!
You should make this apple butter!! It’s super simple to throw together
My sister loves apple butter. Maybe we can do this together. Another sister bonding!
That sounds like a wonderful idea. Sister bonding in the kitchen is always fun!
that sounds like a nice recipe! i’ll try to find this in our store here in dubai and introduced my daughter, she is pretty selective with foods too so this is a nice idea
I’ve only had apple butter when I go to this restaurant in town that is known for breakfast. I actually thought that it was made with butter before this post – doh!
It does sound like it would maybe be made with butter LOL
This post brings back fond childhood memories. My grandma used to make apple butter and always had it on hand. Yum!
Awe that’s a sweet memory! My grandmother likes to make jams and things with figs 🙂
Apple butter is something I absolutely cannot resist! Thanks for sharing this yumminess!
Apple butter does make a great treat
Yum…I cannot wait to try this. I guess I need to start saving my receipts!
That’s a good deal, I’d say. You are right about habits as a child grows up, usually they end up as the sole and central reason for unfortunate attitude problems. Mott’s however, is a name that grows on you!
I love Apple butter! I never thought of making it myself. I love this easy recipe and will be making it for sure. Thanks for sharing!
I love apple butter! It’s such a yummy summertime snack!
I’ve never tried making apple butter before! This is awesome because apple is one of our favorites at home! I’m sure the kids will love this. Thanks for the recipe!
I’ve never made my own apple butter, but your recipe looks easy. Thanks for sharing!
I love apple butter! Cracker Barrell has amazing apple butter, but I would love to try my hand at making my own!
I have never tried Cracker Barrell’s before. It does sound like something they would make, though.
Super easy to make, I think I will give it a try!
My son loves Motts. And I have to watch that movie really soon.
I had to laugh because I threw my receipt away the first time too, even though I KNEW I was supposed to save it! I went back and bought more too since Mott’s apple juice is a staple in our house!
Haha. I guess it was just habit for me. I rarely save receipts except for when I was into couponing. My new stock of applesauce and juices was gone super quick so I didn’t mind either. The kids devoured it all 🙂
I really like this recipe. It looks very tasty.
This looks so delicious and easy to make! Thanks for sharing this recipe! (client)
