You may know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but did you know that regular breakfast boosts your energy and control your weight?
Morning madness is something that everyone goes through, especially when you have kids. This rush can negatively influence not only your mind, but it can affect your body's health and overall well-being.
This is why you should eat a regular breakfast no matter what and do your best to have a calm morning. If you want to make your breakfast time enjoyable and effective, try the tips listed below.
First Coffee
Coffee lovers claim they can't start their day without a sip of coffee. If this is you, you know that if you drink coffee on an empty stomach, you may lose your appetite.
Although coffee will boost your energy levels, breakfast will keep your body in balance and provide you with the nutrition to proceed with your day. You don't have to choose between breakfast or having coffee in the morning. You can have both!
However, if you want both, you should think ahead, and think about a change to cold brew coffee from freshly brewed. This coffee is slow-brewed, less acidic, and can be a perfect summer drink.
Plus, you won't have to worry about getting burned by hot coffee on the way to the office. Just remember to eat breakfast before heading out.
Include An Antioxidant Source
Antioxidants help you keep your health great. Not only do they help your body, but they also protect your cells against free radicals, making them a great weapon against cancer and other diseases.
The great thing about antioxidants is that they can be taken daily, as long as they come from a fresh source, which is why fruits such as blueberries should be included in your breakfast routine. Add them to your oats and mix them with Greek yogurt. For extra sweetness, put a spoonful of honey.
Stick To Whole Foods
This may be easier said than done, but do your best to stick to whole foods. We know this is challenging, especially if you are office-based, but try to plan.
You can bring with you fresh fruit and vegetables, and plan breakfast the night before. If possible, replace sugar with natural sweeteners and stay away from industrial food.
Did you know that sixty percent of our body and seventy-three percent of our brain is water? In other words, you need to give your body what it needs – you need to give it water!
Staying hydrated is one of the best things you can do for your body and mind. Often, your brain will trick you into thinking you are hungry, when you're actually thirsty.
To avoid over-eating and give what your body needs, start your day with a glass of water, followed by a lean breakfast and then coffee.
