Top-New-Year-Resolutions-You-Can-Make-for-Your-Pets

As we all know, the new year brings us new goals and endless opportunities for both you and your pet to experience. You get fresh 365 days to adopt new ways of living a fulfilled life and developing healthier habits.

Whether you have a pet or not, you should be doing things that make you healthier, but when you have someone like a pet depending on you, you have to make sure that both of you are living the healthiest life possible.

So, if you are looking to make both your and your pet's life happier and healthier, here are top new year resolutions you can make and do your best to fulfill.

Try Going for More Walks

Often, the resolution on top of everyone's lists is being more active and losing weight. There is no better companion for those resolutions than your pets.

A great way to motivate yourself to do more exercise and stay active is merely taking your pet on a nice run or walk. They will surely appreciate it.

Sometimes your pet will have more stamina than you, but that is a great motivator as well as a great bonding experience.

To make it a better experience for both of you, invest in the right pet gear. Muttropolis is an online pet store that offers the cutest premium pet supplies.

They have everything you'd ever need for a nice long walk including stylish collars, leashes, pickup bag holders, and more.

We had the opportunity to purchase a couple of dog collars for Oreo and Zelda from Muttropolis. They were top-notch quality! We found them to be a nice thickness and easy to take on and off.

So, despite them being winter-themed, we decided to let our girls wear them all year long since we love them so much!

Experience a New Place Together

If one of your new year goals is to travel more or experience new things, think about taking your pet along for the ride.

Even though it will require a bit more money than if you are traveling by yourself, it will be worth the extra money.

Not only will you be able to share that time with your pet, but you will also help them learn to add state to new places.

Conquer the Fears

This is the most beneficial thing that you can do to help your pet in the upcoming year.

Helping your furry friend overcome their fears will make them less anxious and help them stop barking or hissing and having a hard time when there is something that scares them.

Make sure that you have something that feels personal for them available for them so they can associate that place with being safe, and they will be less scared and anxious.

Another important thing is to have positive reinforcements like treats to help them overcome their fears. But if you give them too many reinforcements and cuddle them too much, it will lead them to think that it is okay to bark and whine.

Train Your Pet

There is no better time to work on your pet’s training than the new year. All pets should know how to act politely and don't get into dangerous situations or cause you stress.

Focus on potty training your pet as well as preventing any behavioral problems. If you don't have a potty-trained pet, you can't have anything in your home that can get ruined like carpets.

If you are looking to make both your and your pet's life happier and healthier, here are top new year resolutions you can make for your pets!Click To Tweet

Spend More Quality Time Together

Commonly, life hits you, and you simply don't have time to do anything. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn’t neglect your pet in any way.

One of the best times to reduce both your and your pets' stress levels is to spend more quality time together.

It doesn't have to mean that you are spending hours upon hours with your pet. It can mean playing with them throughout the day or cuddling them while you are working.

You must give them affection and attention because it will lower separation anxiety and make both of you happier.

Be More Social and Try to Make New Friends

One of the best things you can do with your pet is to go out and be social and try to make new friends that share the same love for pets as you.

There is nothing better than having your pet as a conversation starter. It just makes things so much easier.

It will not only help your pet learn how to behave and make friends, but it will also help you meet new people.

Teach Them New Tricks

There is nothing more fun than teaching your pet new tricks and then being proud of them. They will not only be super skilled, but it will also teach them new behavioral patterns, and it will help you create a stronger bond between you.

Keep in mind that dogs aren't the only ones who can do tricks. Other animals can, too; you just have to try and have patience.

Get on A Healthy Diet

Having a well-balanced and healthy diet is not only something that you should do; it is something that your pet should also have.

The best way to ensure that your pet is getting all the nutrients it needs is to contact your vet and create a strict dietary plan. It would be best if you didn't rely on a cashier's opinion at a pet store.

Not having a proper diet is bad for everyone. That is why there is no better time to start fresh than at the beginning of a new year.

Quit Smoking

If you are smoking in the house where your pet is, your pet will be breathing in the smoke you are creating. Living in the same area as you, they will become secondhand smokers just like any other human being would.

Not only that, but they will also ingest all the particles when they are grooming themselves. Pets that are exposed to secondhand smoke have an increased risk of developing many different deadly diseases.

If you are struggling to quit, think about how badly your actions are reflecting on your pet.

Dog Collars, Dog Beds and more at Muttropolis

There are so many fun and different ways you can improve your pets' lives in the new upcoming year, and there is no better time to start than now. As your furry friends are such an important thing in your life, you must commit to making their health and happiness a priority.

I am keeping healthy by not eating out anymore. I am keeping my dog healthy by not letting him go on play dates anymore.

We love our walks. We both also incorporate fish in our diets. For Hannah it keeps her skin moisturized and her coat shiny.
