Using Pressure Cooker Racks and Trivets

Racks and trivets are useful accessories for a pressure cooker. They are usually made out of aluminum and stainless steel so they can withstand the heat of pressure cooking.

Racks allow you to cook various kinds of foods in a pressure cooker. They can help you steam foods or even bake bread. Whereas, a trivet will help you keep food from touching the bottom of the pressure cooker and save it from burning.

Both of these pressure cooker accessories can aid you in preparing many different types of foods. Not only does this allow you to use your pressure cooker to its max potential, but it also encourages you to get creative with your cooking.

What Should You Look for in a Pressure Cooker Rack and Trivet?

There are countless options and varieties of racks and rivers available, but what I found is that there are three main things to look for.

1. Must be durable and strong

They should easily able to manage the weight and pressure of the food items that are going in for cooking. It should allow you to pressure cook a whole chicken if you wish!

A flimsy material may start melting due to high pressure, making it dangerous to use and cook food.

2. Legs must be the right height

This will keep your food from overcooking, or even worse burning. Rack and trivet legs should also be to stand stable within the pressure cooker itself. No wobbling!

3. Design does matter

The design of the rack and trivet should easily allow you to cook different items simultaneously. This means it has to be stackable!

Do a quick search Amazon for the best racks and trivets to use for your specific pressure cooker.

One of the significant differences between racks and trivets is that racks are mainly used for steaming. It raises your food off the bottom of the pressure cooker to keep it from scorching.

Whereas, trivets can also cook dishes in small pans or even help remove meats from a pressure cooker. However, they are also raised and keep food away from direct heat.

Why should you use a pressure cooker?

A pressure cooker is prominently used for steaming, sautéing, and cooking countless items. They are very easy and convenient to prepare food in, saving time and energy from cooking.

Remember, guys steam is hot, and your pressure cooker exploding wouldn't be any fun! So always make sure the lid is properly closed and opened by following your pressure cooker instruction manual.

From baking bread, sushi rice to preparing healthy salads, it can be used in so many ways. There are many great recipes online to choose from.

I remember when I was growing up my Grandmother used a pressure cooker. I was terrified that the steam would burn her. Guess she knew what she was doing because she was never burned and all the food she cooked was great.

I bet your grandma made amazing meals with her pressure cooker. I’ve been using my pressure cooker lately to make artichokes 🙂
