I live in central Texas. A lot you may be thinking it's just hot here all the time. While, yes, it's nice, warm weather most of the time but during the winter this changes.
The weather becomes extremely fickle once Fall starts and it continues throughout the winter. One day it can be 80 degrees and lovely—the next it might plummet down to the 40s for a high.
Morning winter temperatures can be rather cold and yet you still might be sweating by the ending of the day.
You just never know.
Thankfully, Fall and winter outfits are the most fun to create! I love layering clothes and am a huge fan of boots. Recently, I was sent a couple of products from prAna that are perfect winter outfits yet very versatile.

Winter Outfits the prAna Way
prAna has a lot of clothes to chose from but I decided to go with versatile pieces. The Frosene Top and Kara Jean fit the bill!
I picked classic colors of black and white (bone) to add to the versatility. This way I could accessorize and have a completely new look every time.
It's nice being able to change a couple things and bam completely different winter outfits emerge.
prAna Kara Jean
At first, I ordered a size 4 in the Kara Jean. I am 5'3 and about 112lbs, for reference, and found the size 4 Kara Jean to be too small.
I mean—I could zip it up and everything but it was just way too tight. They would have never been comfortable to wear long.
To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of overly binding clothes (although I do like leggings). SO I decided to exchange it for the next size up—size 6. This fits much better—maybe a little loose in the waist but way more comfortable.
Looks like I may be in between their sizings, however, the exchange process was super simple and not a headache at all.
Sizing aside, I love the Kara Jean! They go with so many winter outfits. I mean they are jeans—it's a closet staple, right?
Choosing the black color makes them even easier to dress up or down.
The Kara Jean is made from an organic cotton, soft stretch denim blend. It almost feels like a khaki material but softer and stretchier. They feel great and allow me to move freely!
What I particularly like about these jeans is that they are super long in length.
Or maybe, I'm just too short?
But this allows a lot of flexibility on how you wear them and what shoes you can pair them with.
Long or cuffed. With heels, boots, or flats. There are SO many options!
I wear them cuffed with combat boots on cooler days. I love winter fashion!
prAna Frosene Top
Looking for a flattering and versatile sweater to add to your winter outfits arsenal? Check out the prAna Frosene Top. The XS fit me great!
It's a looser fitting sweater which I like plus it's super soft—made of an organic cotton/tencel blend. I got the bone color so it's perfect for pairing with a tank.
Please excuse the dirt on the sweater. Oreo got a little bit excited about our walk 😉
If it's too hot by the end of the day I can just wrap the sweater around my waist instead of wearing it.
I hate winter outfits that have super short ‘long' sleeves and look like a messed up 3/4 sleeves instead. The Frosene Top has nice long sleeves—I can reach for something and still have my arms covered.
Don't be fooled by it's lightweight—it's quite warm. I often don't need a jacket while wearing it even if it's in the 40s or lower. I do run hot, though.
The Frosene Top also features a cross front hem detail making great for casual wear or work. Dress it up, dress it down—it always looks great!
The back of the sweater is slightly longer which means it can be worn with leggings too. I can't wait to try that!

I’ve heard of prAna, and I like their clothes. In Winter weather I like layers because cold outside usually means things might be way over heated indoors.
I agree. Layers are always a great idea in winter. I always get too hot otherwise.
