Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
This year I have been able to try out several different type of makeup and skincare products thanks to my blog. I couldn't be more grateful!
Things like Lancôme Dreamtone, Shielo Moisturizer, Nutra-Lift, and Dr. Max Powers Scar Serum have improved my uneven skin tone, dryness, and are hopefully keeping me young looking. Meanwhile, things like Mary Kay, Mia Mariu, Ageless Derma, and BA Star have been improving my natural beauty. Fingers crossed.
The thing missing from these products is the ability to try new products every month from a variety of brands. And a combination of skin care, makeup, and accessories at that. They are all great for someone who knows what they want but not everyone knows their go to makeup product for every part of their face. Maybe you haven't found that perfect lash primer yet? Or the eye shadow color that makes your eyes pop?
With Wantable.com you take a personal preference makeup quiz on the things you love and don't love. You start by picking your skin tone. Then on onto categories (i.e. accessories, brows, lash products, ect.) where you choose whether you love, dislike, or are in different about them. Then do the same thing with product colors (i.e. warm, cool, color, ect.), textures, tones – until you arrive at the end with all your personal style preferences in check.
Then based on the answers to the quiz you receive a personalized box filled with 4-5 full sized products. This is a great way to try a variety of products at once and for $40 for a one time purchase that's a steal. Or if you want to try new makeup products every month you can subscribe for $36. Even better! We all know how expensive makeup can be from popular brands.
Find out your not a fan of Wantable.com or are low on cash a certain month- subscribers can cancel or skip a month at any time. Or completely dislike all the items in the box you received? You can return them at no cost with no questions asked. Now that's great customer service.
In my Wantable.com personalized box I received a Japonesque Travel Smudger Brush, a Manna Kadar Lash Primer, a Starlooks Kohl Eye Pencil in Obsidian, a Michael Marcus Lipstick in the shade Ann, and a sample of Skiin Instant Skin Tightener & Filler.
I have a tip about the Skiin Instant Skin Tightener & Filler. Do not use it after applying moisturizer or anything else to your face unless you like the clumpy look of the below picture.
I found out that it does much better being the first thing you apply to your face than the second. You almost imediantly get that tightening feeling as soon as it starts to dry. Again like a mask like feel similar to how I described the Nutra-Lift feeling. I also found it to have a slight fake sun tanner smell. Very subtle though and dissipates quickly.
The Japonesque Travel Smudger Brush worked well with the Starlooks Kohl Eye Pencil in Obsidian. Smudging just as it should. Just don't smudge too hard into your lashes or you will get bristles in your eye from the smudger. I'm used to more of a rubber type smudger than one that has bristles. A learning curve I will overcome.
The Starlooks Kohl Eye Pencil in Obsidian went smoothly on. No complaints at all. And the Manna Kadar Lash Primer made my already long lashes even longer. They totally looked fake when I was done with them. I love having long lashes!
To top everything off I applied the Michael Marcus Lipstick in the shade Ann. It's a nice neutral pink color that's great to add more color to your lips, especially in the daytime.
Overall, I think the Wantable.com makeup box is a great idea for those that LOVE makeup. It's a great way to try new, brand name makeup products without having the hassle of going to a department store.
