Fatigue is a feeling of exhaustion, weariness, or lack of energy. It can be caused by many different conditions and should not be ignored. Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms reported to physicians in the United States, and almost everyone will experience it at some point in their lives. Learn more about fatigue and what you can do to feel better!

HOW TO BOOST ENERGY WHEN TIRED

Get Regular Exercise to Get an Energy Boost

Regular exercise can boost your energy levels by increasing your endurance, body strength, and heart health. Even a brisk walk around the block is a great way to boost energy levels as it keeps your blood flowing and controls insulin resistance.

The American Heart Association recommends that adults do at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity cardio exercise five days a week for optimal fatigue reduction!

Manage Mental Health Conditions to Fight Fatigue

Depression is a mood disorder characterized by sadness or a “low” feeling along with tiredness. It’s one of the most common symptoms of depression, and most people suffering from a mental health condition have fatigue.

Other mental health conditions that exhaustion is a common symptom include anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. The good news is lethargy associated with these conditions typically lessens when the illness itself improves.

Check Your Medications

Many medications can cause fatigue as a side effect, including blood pressure medications such as beta-blockers and diuretics; anti-seizure medications such as Depakote; antibiotics; and even birth control pills!

If you’re taking any medication and feel tired for an extended period without relief, contact your doctor to see if there may be an alternative medication that doesn’t affect energy levels.

Get Nutrients from Vitamins and Foods that Boost Energy

You should always be sure to consume enough calories, protein, fats, complex carbohydrates, and fiber in your diet. However, certain vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients can help fatigue symptoms.

Vitamin B6 is an effective fatigue-fighting nutrient because it’s necessary for the production of serotonin in the brain. Magnesium deficiency has also been linked to exhaustion while simultaneously promoting fatigue reduction.

Address Underlying Medical Conditions Can Help Fatigue

Many different conditions can cause tiredness even when you get enough sleep at night, including chronic fatigue syndrome, thyroid disease, diabetes, cancer, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis (MS), heart disease, or heart failure. Identifying the root cause of fatigue is crucial to finding relief!

Check Your Hydration Levels

Drinking plenty of water throughout the day is another fatigue-fighting lifestyle habit. Dehydration can lead to fatigue and other fatigue-related symptoms such as headaches, dry skin, fatigue, and dizziness!

People don’t drink enough water because they forget, they’re not thirsty, or they mistakenly believe that other beverages count as adequate substitutes for water. Additionally, many people find water bland and unappetizing, especially when it’s hot.

On average, people should consume half of their body weight in ounces each day. For example, a 200-pound person should drink 100 ounces or about nine cups of water throughout the day. For most people, this is a hard feat.

Thankfully, electrolyte drinks and powders from SOS Hydration help make this task manageable.

SOS Hydration is the Perfect Solution for Fatigue

SOS Hydration is a fast and effective solution for rehydrating your body after exercising, sweating excessively, or simply while you are on the go. Its unique formula hydrates you three times faster than water alone (because it also contains sodium and potassium electrolytes).

SOS Hydration is low calorie, low sugar, and digests at the top of the gut for fast absorption. It replenishes what water can’t reach with just 10 calories per serving and comes in several different flavors. We found it to be a refreshing change to plain water!

People often think that sports drinks are healthy because they are marketed as being beneficial for athletes. However, most people don’t need the extra sugar and calories that these drinks provide. Thankfully, SOS Hydration has only 3g of sugar which is about 10 times less than the average sports drink!

SOS Hydration is also gluten-free, keto certified, vegan-friendly, non-GMO, soy-free, and dairy-free. It’s the perfect way to stay hydrated while performing at your peak.

SOS Hydration for Kids

Most kids don’t like drinking plain water (some adults aren’t fans either), so it is important to get them drinking as much as possible.

SOS Hydration’s kids’ line of delicious drink mixes are perfect for rehydrating children after a day in the sun or simply playing catch up to their fast metabolisms. They come in fun flavors such as strawberry, lemonade, and berry, and can be conveniently purchased at SOS Hydration and Walmart.

With only 3g of sugar and 10 calories per serving, SOS Hydration is a healthy option for kids that want something light and refreshing.

It even comes in fun PAW Patrol packaging and makes a great lunch box alternative to high sugar beverages. It’s something you can actually feel good about giving to your kids which is a parenting win!

Take Supplements to Fix Fatigue

Some supplements, like Coffea Cruda (homeopathic remedy), Cordyceps Mushroom Extract or Rhodiola Rosea Extract can help fight fatigue and make your day more enjoyable! Always speak with your doctor before beginning any supplement.

Reduce Your Stress Levels

When it comes to fatigue, relaxation is a crucial fatigue-fighting lifestyle habit. Increased stress and exhaustion can be a vicious cycle that worsens symptoms. Meditation, yoga, and other relaxation practices are great options for relief as they calm your mind and ease your body into a state of restfulness.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep

Getting enough sleep is not only important for fatigue-fighting but your overall health. Adults need seven to nine hours of sleep per night to feel refreshed when they wake up the following day.

If you feel tired during the day, it’s likely because you didn’t get enough shut-eye at night!

Drink Less Alcohol to Gain Energy

Finally, reducing your alcohol consumption can help fatigue symptoms tremendously! If you notice sleepiness, irritability, or depression after consuming alcoholic beverages, then the answer may be to cut back on how much you’re drinking. When you drink alcohol, it dehydrates your body which can lead to tiredness and many other fatigue-related symptoms!

You can’t always avoid fatigue, and it’s not always possible to identify the root cause when you experience it, but knowing what it is and how to treat it will hopefully bring you some relief! Be sure to check with a medical professional anytime fatigue persists for two weeks or more so they can help you find relief naturally without medications.
