Ways to Stop Yourself from Anxiety Fidgeting

Even though physical health was a concern for individuals back in the day, mental health wasn't a thing. Today, people are quite mindful of the importance of mental health. The rising concern includes the increasing percentage of mental health conditions among people, irrespective of their age.

In 2017, about 284 million individuals suffered from an anxiety disorder. This made anxiety the prevalent and common neurodevelopmental disorder of the time.

Here you will explore some easy ways to calm anxiety fidgeting symptoms.

Although it is more common in children, fidgeting is also seen in adults. Here are a few ways to ease your anxiety fidgeting!Click To Tweet

Why Do I Fidget So Much?

First, figure out why your anxiety causes you to fidget. Different people have different ways they react when anxious.

Are you fidgeting in bed? Perhaps, a new job prospect has you fidgeting in an interview? Or, maybe you want to stop fidgeting when talking?

Observe yourself as an onlooker and discover when the reaction starts. It can be challenging a task, but it is necessary to take control of your symptoms.

Do not overlook aspects like situations, patterns, frequencies, bodily sensations, or the intensity of the feeling. Pay attention to your fidgeting body language.

Allow Natural Solutions to Calm Your Anxiety Fidgeting

A large percentage of the population, as well as health professionals, are relying on natural solutions. Nature can provide remedies for both physical and mental health conditions.

Did you know that kratom is one of the herbs that have been recognized as a powerful stress and anxiety reliever?

Healers and herbalists have used extracts of fresh kratom leaves for ages to reduce chronic pain, regulate mood, increase focus, and cut down anxiety.

If you want to calm symptoms of anxiety fidgets safely and naturally, try the most popular white vein strains of kratom.

Practice Calmness to Reduce Physical Anxiety Symptoms

People who constantly suffer from anxious fidgeting find it very hard to relax. If there is an important test or job interview, they consistently think about it.

One of the best ways to relieve this feeling is to practice calmness. You can try breathing exercises, meditations, or staring at a candle flame for a short period.

Are You Constantly Fidgeting with Your Hands?

Today, there is a wide range of fidgeting devices and anxiety fidget toys on the market. These accessories help you control your nervous ticks and racing mind.

Many of these toys come with rolling, flipping, twisting, or spinning parts. These toys put your focus on something else and give you something productive to do with your anxiousness.

If you aren't into toys, try sensory adhesives!

Calm Strips

Ways to Stop Yourself from Anxiety Fidgeting

Calm Strips are a reusable sticker with a textured surface. Each design is packaged in a cute little envelope with an inspirational quote relating to its featured nature scene.

Instead of remembering to take a fidget toy with you, you can easily place Calm Strips on something you already carry or use often. Perfect examples of this are your smartphone, desks, steering wheels, books, or computers, among others.

Ways to Stop Yourself from Anxiety Fidgeting

Scratching it, rubbing it, and picking at its sides can give you a sense of calmness.

We love that Calm Strips can easily be removed from one surface to another, making them highly portable. Not to mention, they are beautifully designed with calming nature scenes.

We have them on our phones and computers, and they have been a perfect addition to our children's online learning routine!

Caffeine Induced Anxiety Fidgeting May be Your Problem

This suggestion is not to discourage the idea of using caffeine. Caffeine comes with plenty of mental health benefits.

But are you prone to anxiety? Then you shouldn't go crazy with your caffeine intake. Studies have shown that caffeine can play an essential role in increasing or triggering your anxiety levels.

Caffeine intake blocks certain brain chemicals and makes you feel more alert. People often consume it when they work or feel incredibly exhausted.

However, excessive intake of caffeine can easily make one feel anxious and cause fidgeting. Often patients suffering from severe anxiety turn out to be heavy caffeine consumers.

If you suffer from any underlying conditions or your anxiety is too severe, please contact your doctor for the best approach.

I’m not a sufferer of anxiety and try to find ways to stay calm and balanced. What refuels my spirit is going on walks especially by water like at the Nature Center which has a boardwalk going through the woods and by a creek. At intervals, I also call my friends and talk.

I suffer from anxiety nearly every day. I’m mostly anxious about my dog because she is a diabetic and I can’t get her blood glucose levels under control. I’m constantly worried if her blood glucose is too low (which can kill her almost instantly if it goes too low) or too high (over time can cause blindness, kidney failure, liver failure, etc).

I have strong social anxiety and have serious problems being in spaces with other people, I have a few fidget rings and other jewelry that helps, and also I have a medication I can use if it gets severe. I’ve never tried these types of fidget strips before so hopefully they would help.

I have in the past and that was something that I had done some research and tried to have personal growth on for myself. I think that it is something that I’ll always have to be aware about and of course you know practice mindfulness for because that is what helps.

I do have anxiety. When I do, I get heart palpitations, racing heart beat, sweating and tingling through out my body. I went to the emergency room the first time because I thought something was wrong with me and it only made the anxiety worse. They told me I was having an anxiety attack. It sucks. And I having racing thoughts and at night when I try to sleep, it keeps me awake.
