Plus, hardwood floors have a classic look that most people love. One of the first things we did in this home was replaced the carpet that went up the stairs to hardwood. The final product looked SO much better!

Water-resistant Options Available
As with most flooring options, wood flooring is water-resistant to an extent. If you spill anything on the floor, make sure to dry it immediately so it will not stain or warp.
It’s essential to protect it from getting wet and especially if you have wood flooring in the bathroom. This is where rugs and bath mats become extremely important. You don’t want the wood to get soft and start to warp.
Just make sure if your rug or bath mat gets soaked, not to leave it on the floor. Otherwise, it could damage your floors without you realizing it.
Wood Flooring is Easy to Clean
Wood flooring is easier to clean up spills and stains compared to other types of flooring. If you spill something on a carpet, it is more likely to stain than if you dropped the same thing on a wooden floor.
In my home, we have four cats and a dog. I know if one of them is going to have an accident, I much rather it is on the hardwood or tile than the carpet. It’s so much easier to clean a hairball on a surface that isn’t fibrous!
