Without a doubt, one of the most difficult things when planning a vacation is choosing a destination that will make everyone happy. There are so many places that are worth visiting and choosing one of them seems almost impossible.
Europe itself offers breathtaking landscapes, dreamy beaches, cosmopolitan cities, charming towns, museums, monuments, and more.
One European country that definitely deserves a visit is Ireland. It is internationally known as a friendly country and who wouldn't want to visit a place that boasts that?
In case you are stuck on where your next travel destination should be, here are several reasons to travel to Ireland.
Landscapes
This country offers a varied and rich landscape. There are breathtaking green meadows, lakes, mountains, coastal fjords, and islands.
Not to mention, well-known sites like the Cliffs of Moher, the Giant's Causeway and Connemara National Park.
History and Culture
Ireland is a country with a lot of history and culture. The Irish have managed to maintain their Celtic roots and it shows everywhere you go in this beautiful country.
Of course, there are also historical monuments such as Newgrange. It is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world.
And, as you can imagine, there is no shortage of museums and art galleries to fill your daily schedule.
Castles
Of course, when people think of Ireland they think of castles. These lovely sites are often surrounded by stunning landscapes that are dropped dead gorgeous.
The country houses around 340 castles which were built by the Irish, British and Scottish at different times. Some of the most stunning are Cahir, Blarney, Kilkenny, Malahide, Dunluce, and Ross.
Pubs
There are many other places to visit as well but we can’t talk about Ireland without mentioning its pubs. It's where many Irish people gather to hang out and chat.
Here you will not only be able to enjoy good music, but you will be able to taste some outstanding drinks. Things like the Irish Coffee, an Irish Whiskey Sour or black beer.
Remember that the Irish invented whiskey so it is a must-have here!
Festivals
Ireland is home to some of the most amazing music and gastronomic festivals in the world.
Think St. Patrick's Day in the United States but way bigger. It's the national holiday of Ireland and is celebrated on March 17 throughout the country.
Most of the celebration takes place in Dublin, where you'll find parades and all kinds of crazy celebrations going on.
Cities
Although the landscapes of Ireland are spectacular, there are also some cities that are worth knowing, such as Dublin. It is characterized by being animated and modern.
If you decide to visit the Irish capital, we recommend you take a look at the whole city. Some other cities are also worth visiting such as Belfast, Waterford, Galway, Cork, and Killarney.
Irish Folk
Last but not least, we want to talk about the Irish people themselves. They are kind and helpful people.
In fact, they will welcome you with open arms. If you want to interact with them, the best thing you can do is spend some time in one of the pubs that we mentioned before and you'll get the real feel of this amazing country.
I would love to visit Ireland. The landscapes and the history would be so much fun! Hopefully one day 🙂
It’s def on my list for one day too. I just hope the Ireland trip actually happens!
