There are some amazing professions out there that have been instrumental to our well-being as human beings. However, while some people make amazing professionals, they often make terrible marriage partners. Not because they are bad people, but because of the influence their professions have on them.
Here are a few of those professions. It doesn’t matter if you met on online or not. If you're married to one of these professionals, I know you can relate.
Psychologist
Psychologists spend many years in school learning about different mind concepts and how to apply them to human beings. They need to be able to analyze people properly and understand how they think so they can be good at their jobs.
The result, however, is that their brains are constantly analyzing the world around them, including you.
You shouldn't take this personally. It's just part of the job. In fact, this strain in personal relationships is one of the primary reasons why most psychologists don’t treat family.
If you’re married to a psychologist, set up rules that can help the two of you coexist in harmony.
Anyone Working in Finance
If you're married to someone in finance, you might be tempted to believe that life is about to get very luxurious. Even though it’s usually true for the most part, you may also find yourself picking up on a lot of financial management skills. People like bankers and financial analysts make a living by looking for ways to spend prudently, save, and invest.
This may often spill over into your relationship. You may find yourself constantly keeping an eye on the amount of money you spend on things.
It's not necessarily that you're going to live a frugal life, but you'll inevitably you'll become smarter with your money.
Celebrities
Becoming a celebrity is most people's dream (either secretly or openly). There's something irresistible and alluring about having fans all over the world and being in the center of attention. However, being a celebrity also has its disadvantages.
For one, all your actions and activities are constantly monitored by gossip columnists and paparazzi looking for something to publish.
This means you have little or no privacy, and at any moment, your secrets can end up on the front page. Most celebrities get used to fame, and they learn how to deal with the attention. However, for you who has recently married into celebrity status, you might have a more extended adjustment period.
Doctors
Don't be mistaken – marrying a doctor has its perks. Besides the bragging rights you get from being with a literal lifesaver, you also get a ton of free medical advice. Unfortunately, this can become quite annoying because it can be a little like being married to your mom.
You may have to listen to a lot of health-sensitive instructions like “Wash your hands five times a day” and “Brush your teeth in a circular motion.” However, the instructions might make you feel you at least know it's coming from a good place, and your doctor partner only wants the best for you.
