Honey Walnut Pecan Bars

A delicious dessert bar with caramelly walnuts and pecans atop a buttery shortbread crust. It's a Fall favorite in this house!

Servings 24 bars


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter cubed
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 3 tbsp half and half
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 2.5 cups pecans


  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 13 x 9-inch pan with foil, making sure to cover the sides. Lightly grease the foil.

  2. Using a food processor, pulse flour, salt cubed butter, and powdered sugar until a coarse crumbs forms. Press mixture onto the bottom of the pan, and slightly up the sides. 

  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Set aside.

  4. In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey, vanilla, half & half, and butter. Heat over medium-high heat until the butter and sugar melt and ingredients combine. Stir in pecans and pour mixture over crust.

  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until filling is set. Cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into bars and enjoy!
